Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We join you in thanking God for His promise in Romans 8:28 that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, and we pray with you that this truth would cover your lives and the work of your hands and heart. We ask the Lord to show His favor not as mere success in our plans, but as His grace to make our efforts fruitful for His glory as we love Him and walk in His will. We plead the blood of Jesus Christ over you and all you love, for there is salvation and protection and cleansing in Him alone, and no other name under heaven by which we are saved.
We ask the Father to fill you with His goodness so that you may not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good, as Romans 12:21 teaches. When two thoughts wrestle within us, one urging revenge and the other urging endurance, we pray that the peace of God would rule in your hearts as an umpire, giving the victory to endurance and love, because God Himself is peace and has made peace with us through Christ.
We pray for your children, that the Lord would draw them close to Himself and help them see themselves as He sees them, loved, created in His image, and called to holiness. We ask Him to increase the fruit of the Spirit in you all, especially love, that you may love Him first and then love one another well, and to answer your unspoken needs according to His perfect wisdom and timing.
For your daughter and your niece we ask for healing and protection in their medical needs, and for peace in the home with their children. Grant them grace to live healthy lives in body and soul, to seek holiness without which no one will see the Lord, and to walk in strength. We pray that their appointments would go well and that the Lord would give wisdom to all who care for them.
For your extended family we pray for true peace. Scripture teaches that peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and that those who make peace are called sons of God. This peace is not simply avoiding disagreement, but living together in love and truth. We pray that each of you would follow peace with all people, lower expectations that lead to disappointment, and learn to accept and forgive one another as Christ has forgiven you, while also holding fast to holiness.
We lift up your sister in Christ and ask for strength and healing for her, and for the salvation of her sons. We pray that the Lord would draw them to faith in Jesus Christ alone and work in their hearts to honor and respect their mother, and that she would be encouraged as she continues to walk faithfully before them.
We pray for young single mothers, and especially for the one who is in spiritual confusion. We ask that the Lord would lead her out of confusion into the clear truth of the gospel, that she would know Jesus as the only way, truth, and life, and find guidance in His Word and in a faithful church family. We pray for provision for their spiritual, emotional, and daily needs, for protection and deliverance from evil, and for grace to live according to God's good design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and for purity and faithfulness in all relationships. For the baby entrusted to care, we ask for healing, safety, and a stable, loving home where Christ is honored, and for wisdom for all who have responsibility for this child.
We ask for the Lord's protection over all your travels and for His hand over every endeavor you have committed to Him. Thank you for sharing how God has already answered prayers. We praise Him with you and give Him all glory, trusting that where His peace is present, His joy and love will follow. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
