Romans 8:28

Thank you for sharing your heart and these many burdens so openly. It is good to bring everything to the Lord with thanksgiving and to stand on His promises.

You anchored your prayer in Romans 8:28, and that truth remains firm. Not every circumstance in this life is good in itself, but for those who love God and are called according to His purpose through faith in Jesus Christ, God is at work in all things for good. He weaves even hard and painful things into His gracious purpose to conform us to Christ and to draw others to Himself.

You also prayed from Romans 12:21 to not be overcome by evil but to overcome evil with good. That is the way of wisdom from above. When we respond to hurt and wrong with the goodness of Christ, we sow peace, and those who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. Jesus calls peacemakers blessed because they reflect the character of God.

A central thread in all you shared is peace, and Scripture makes an important distinction. First we need peace with God, and that peace only comes through the blood of Jesus Christ. Apart from Him we are at war with God, and there can be no lasting peace. When we turn to Jesus and receive forgiveness, the war is over and we are reconciled to God.

Then God wants us to know the peace of God in daily life. This is the perfect peace promised to the one whose mind is stayed on the Lord because he trusts in Him, and the peace that passes all understanding that guards our hearts and minds in Christ. The world cannot give this peace and cannot understand it. It comes as we keep our thoughts fixed on Christ, trusting that He will care for what concerns us. Grace comes first, and then peace follows. As you keep looking to Him, His peace will keep you steady even when circumstances are chaotic.

In that light we join you in prayer:

For you and all you love, that God would cover your lives and the work of your hands and heart with His truth, and that you would walk in the goodness of Christ so that evil is overcome by good.

For your children, that the Lord would draw them close to Himself and help them see themselves as He sees them, loved, created with purpose, and redeemed through Jesus. May the fruit of the Spirit increase among you, especially love, as you learn to love God and love one another in His timing and will, including the unspoken needs you carry.

For your daughter and your niece and their medical needs, we ask for healing and protection according to the Lord's mercy and wisdom. For peace with their children and grace to live healthy lives that honor God, and for peace within the extended family. May each one be given a humble, forgiving spirit that seeks reconciliation, bears with one another in love, and sows peace rather than strife.

For your sister in Christ, we ask for strength and healing, and for her sons to come to salvation through Jesus Christ alone and to walk in respect and honor toward their mother.

For young single mothers, and especially the one who is in spiritual confusion, we pray for clear guidance out of confusion into the truth of God's Word, for provision for spiritual and emotional needs, for protection and deliverance from evil, and for healing for the baby entrusted to her care. May the Lord provide faithfully and lead each mother to know His forgiveness and to walk in His good design for life, marriage, and purity, trusting His grace to make a new way forward.

For appointments and for travel, we ask for the Lord's protection and help, and for His hand to be evident in every detail.

We praise God with you for the amazing answered prayers you have already seen. May all glory be given to Him. We ask these things trusting not in our own worthiness but in the name and shed blood of Jesus, who is our peace. Amen.
