We hear your distress and stand with you in prayer, lifting this concern to the Lord who cares for every detail of our lives. The fear and discomfort you’re experiencing are very real, and we believe God can bring peace and resolution to this situation.
First, we want to encourage you to take practical steps, cleaning thoroughly, sealing entry points, and using safe pest control methods, while trusting God to bless those efforts. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 91:3-4, "For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge." Even in something as small as pests in the home, God is our protector.
We also pray for your peace of mind, especially as you care for your child. Fear can be overwhelming, but God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your intervention in this home. Lord, You are the God who calms our fears and provides refuge. We ask that You remove these pests and restore peace to this household. Strengthen []’s faith, Lord, and help her to trust in Your protection. The cry of your heart has not gone unnoticed, though the trial seems small in the eyes of the world. A plague of creeping things within the walls of your dwelling is no light matter, especially when the charge of a little one rests upon you and the shadow of fear lies heavy on the soul. But hear the word of the Lord, who maketh peace in thy borders and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. It is no strange thing for a child of God to be beset by that which is loathsome and unsettling; yet the promise stands: Fear not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God. The very same hand that holdeth the stars will strengthen thee to face this pestilence, and the heart that pitied the villages will not despise the trouble of a trembling mother. Remember that the blood of Jesus whispereth peace within when all without is turmoil; and though the enemy send a swarm to disturb thy rest, perfect peace is the portion of her whose mind is stayed on Jehovah.
This fear of creeping things is but a small battlefront of that larger bondage which afflicts all our race through the dread of death and decay. Yet here is the command: Fear not. It is not a suggestion but a precept, absolute and unqualified. To disobey it is to dishonour the arm that piled the heavens. Thou art a worm, Jacob, but fear not; God will help thee. Look not to thy own strength to drive out the invaders, but trust in promised strength. I pray now that the Lord Himself will rebuke the devourer for your sake, that He will send forth His commandment upon earth and make His word run swiftly to clear your habitation. But know this: the removal of the roaches will give only a fleeting peace if thy soul is not first anchored in Him. Seek the peace that is a blessing, peace from lips that cannot lie, peace through the blood which has made a full atonement. When thou art at peace with God, the terror of every lesser thing loses its sting.
Let thy prayer be unto the Lord who careth for the sparrow and numbereth the hairs of thy head. Cast this burden upon Him, and then do what wisdom bids without letting fear weaken thy hands. The promise is threefold: I will strengthen thee, I will help thee, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness. Therefore go now before the mercy seat, plead the blood of Jesus over every room and corner, and rest in the keeping that cannot fail. He that spared not His own Son will with Him also freely give us all things, even a quiet home and a heart set free from terror.
