We hear your cry for deliverance from the grip of evil, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. The Bible tells us in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Your plea is not just a wish, it is a spiritual battle, and we must approach it with the authority given to us through Christ.
First, we must address the foundation of your faith. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, now is the time. There is no victory over evil apart from Him. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is the first step to true freedom. If you have already placed your faith in Christ, we rejoice with you, but we must also examine our lives for any areas where we may have given the enemy a foothold. Ephesians 4:27 warns us, "Don’t give place to the devil." Have you allowed bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin to linger in your heart? These are open doors for the enemy’s influence.
We also recognize that spiritual warfare requires action on our part. You cannot simply ask for evil to leave, you must command it to go in the name of Jesus. Matthew 18:18 assures us, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven." This is not a passive request; it is a declaration of authority. We must renounce any involvement with occult practices, false idols, or ungodly influences, as these give the enemy legal rights to harass you. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 makes it clear that such things are an abomination to the Lord.
Let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names. We acknowledge that You alone have the power to break every chain and set the captives free. Lord, we stand on Your Word, which declares that the enemy must flee when we resist him. We bind every evil spirit that has taken hold of [this person] and command them to loose their grip now, in Jesus’ name. We break every curse, every stronghold, and every assignment of the enemy over [this person]’s life. We declare that no weapon formed against [this person] shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against [this person] in judgment, You shall condemn, for this is [their] heritage as a servant of the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we ask You to fill every void in [this person]’s life with Your Holy Spirit. Where the enemy has sown lies, plant Your truth. Where there has been fear, let Your perfect love cast it out (1 John 4:18). Where there has been bondage, let Your freedom reign. We plead the blood of Jesus over [this person]’s mind, body, and spirit, and we declare that [they are] covered and protected by the blood of the Lamb.
Lord, we also ask for Your forgiveness for any areas where we have opened the door to the enemy through sin, disobedience, or compromise. Cleanse [this person] from all unrighteousness and restore [them] to right standing with You. Help [them] to walk in holiness and to resist the devil at every turn.
We thank You, Father, that Your Word does not return void. We believe that as we have prayed, so it is done. We declare that the enemy has no place in [this person]’s life, and we command every evil spirit to flee now and never return. We seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus and declare that [this person] is free indeed (John 8:36).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Now, beloved, stand firm in your freedom. Do not return to the things that once bound you. Fill your mind with Scripture, surround yourself with godly fellowship, and remain vigilant in prayer. The enemy may try to return, but as Jesus said in Luke 11:24-26, when an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it seeks rest and finds none. Then it says, "I will return to my house from which I came," and when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that person becomes worse than the first. Therefore, do not leave your heart empty, fill it with the presence of God through worship, prayer, and the study of His Word.
We encourage you to seek out a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith and find accountability. If you are struggling with specific sins or strongholds, confess them to a trusted believer and ask for prayer. James 5:16 tells us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is your strength, your shield, and your deliverer. Psalm 34:19 says, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." Trust in Him, and He will lead you into victory. The enemy may roar like a lion, but remember, 1 Peter 5:8-9 tells us, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings." Stand firm, and do not give up. Your deliverance is already won through the cross of Christ.
