We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and we stand with you in this spiritual battle. The harassment you’ve endured is real, and the desire for justice is understandable, but we must address the longing for revenge with Scripture, for vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. Romans 12:19 tells us, "Dearly beloved, don’t seek revenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’" Your heart cries out for justice, and God hears you. He is the righteous Judge who sees every injustice and will make all things right in His perfect timing.
We also recognize the spiritual warfare you’ve described. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came so that you might have life abundantly (John 10:10). The new age influence you once walked in opened doors to spiritual oppression, but Christ has broken those chains. Colossians 1:13 declares, "He has delivered us out of the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love." You are no longer under the enemy’s dominion, you are a child of the Most High God.
Yet, we must address the danger of bitterness. Hebrews 12:15 warns, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." Bitterness is a snare that can entangle even the most faithful believer, and revenge is a path that leads only to more pain. Instead, we are called to forgive, as Christ forgave us (Colossians 3:13). This does not mean what was done to you was right, it was not. But forgiveness is a weapon that disarms the enemy and releases you from his grip.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who has endured years of harassment and spiritual attack. Lord, You see every injustice, every word spoken against them, and every scheme of the enemy. We ask that You would be their shield and defender. Break the power of any spiritual strongholds that have been allowed to linger, and cleanse them from any residue of the new age deception they once walked in. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we pray against the spirit of revenge that seeks to take root in their heart. Soften their spirit with Your love and remind them that vengeance is Yours alone. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and replace their pain with hope. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, not because they deserve it, but because You first forgave us. We ask that You would bring true justice, Your justice, in Your perfect timing and way.
Lord, we also pray for those who have harassed them. If they are acting under spiritual deception, we ask that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. If they are willfully opposing You, we ask that You would deal with them according to Your righteousness. Either way, we trust You to handle it, for You are just and holy.
We declare that our brother/sister is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Strengthen them with Your might, and let them walk in the freedom You died to give them. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the One who has overcome the world. Amen.
We encourage you to cling to God’s promises in this season. Psalm 37:5-6 says, "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him, and He will do this: He will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun." The enemy wants you to focus on the pain and the people who have hurt you, but God calls you to fix your eyes on Him. Spend time in His Word, surround yourself with godly believers who can pray with you and support you, and worship Him in spirit and in truth. The enemy cannot stand in the presence of true worship.
If you have not already, consider seeking deliverance prayer from mature believers who understand spiritual warfare. James 4:7 says, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." You have authority in Christ to resist the enemy, and we encourage you to use it. Renounce any ties to the new age practices you once engaged in, and rebuke the enemy in Jesus’ name. You are not powerless, you are a child of the King, and He has equipped you for battle.
Lastly, we urge you to guard your heart against the temptation to take matters into your own hands. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." The desire for revenge can poison your soul and hinder your walk with God. Instead, choose to trust Him. He is your Defender, your Redeemer, and your Strong Tower (Proverbs 18:10). He will not leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
