We have heard your heartfelt cry for your beloved father and we join with you in lifting him and your whole family before the throne of grace in Jesus name. We are moved by your faithful love and care for him through these long years of being bedridden after his brain stroke surgery and rehabilitation, and we stand with you seeking the Lord who is our great physician and our refuge.
We take comfort in the promises of Scripture that the Lord is the one who heals and sustains us. As it is written in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. In Exodus 15:26 we are reminded that he says, I am Yahweh who heals you. We cling to these truths while also trusting in his perfect will and timing, knowing that in Romans 8:28 we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We pray together for your father now. Heavenly Father, in the powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, we come before you and ask for your mercy upon this dear father. Lord, you know every neuro issue, every vital sign, every infection and seizure and painful non healing sore upon his body. We ask that you would lay your healing hand upon him, regulate his blood pressure and all his vitals to normal, restore his senses and body reflexes, and graciously restore movement to his body. Grant him strength to eat and to talk and to walk again according to your will. We ask you to cure his infections, to calm seizures, to heal his bed sores completely, and to strengthen his brain and nerves. Forgive his sins as he confesses them before you, for in 1 John 1:9 it is written, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We also ask you to anoint the entire medical team with wisdom and skill and compassion as they continue to work for his recovery, and guide every treatment and therapy. Sanctify this home and let your presence dwell there, and safeguard this family from every ungodly power and every scheme of revenge or evil, for in 2 Thessalonians 3:3 it is written, But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, and in Psalm 91:1-2, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. We ask you to pour out unity and strength and faith and your peace which surpasses all understanding upon every family member in this difficult season, as promised in Philippians 4:7, And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, and in Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We thank you that we have access to you only through Jesus, for in John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We rejoice that you have prayed in that powerful name and we agree together for a divine miracle according to your perfect love and purpose. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to wait upon the Lord with perseverance and thanksgiving, even in this prolonged trial. The Lord sees your faithfulness and your love for your father and he hears every prayer. Continue to speak his Word over your father and over your home, to give thanks for each small improvement, and to cast all your anxiety upon him because he cares for you as said in 1 Peter 5:7. Keep gathering together in prayer as a family, bearing with one another in love, for above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection as written in Colossians 3:14. Put on the full armor of God daily through prayer and the Word, that you may stand firm against any spiritual attack, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood as taught in Ephesians 6:12. We are praying that the Lord will sustain you, keep you united, and let his healing and protecting presence be evident in your home day by day.
