We join you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ, the great physician, for your father and for your whole family in this long and heavy trial.
We ask the Lord to lay His healing hand upon your father. We pray that God would restore what has been broken by the stroke, that He would mend what is injured in the brain and nerves, and graciously bring back movement, sensation and reflexes. We ask Him to regulate blood pressure and all vital signs, to give strength to eat and to speak and to walk again, and to bring healing to infections, to calm seizures and to heal the bedsores that have not yet closed. We pray that the Lord, who alone is the true healer, would work through the hands and minds of the medical team, granting them wisdom, skill and compassion as they continue in rehabilitation and daily care.
We also pray for the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ alone, for He suffered to make us sons and daughters of God and to bring us near to the Father. It is through His name and His mercy that we draw near with confidence, trusting not in our own worth but in His grace.
For your family we ask for unity, strength, faith and peace in this difficult season. When healing is slow, the heart can grow weary, but the Lord often works as a physician who applies many remedies over time, and even when no change is seen at once, He is still at work. Continue to hear His word, to keep His commandments and to love Him with steady trust, knowing that He hears every prayer and will answer according to His perfect wisdom and love. Whether He restores health fully in this life or sustains through the trial, He will give the reward of His presence to those who bear their burden thankfully and look to Him.
We pray that the Lord would sanctify your home and keep your family under the shelter of Christ. Do not fear curses or witchcraft or black magic as if they have power over those who belong to Jesus. Christ has triumphed over all darkness, and no curse can separate His people from His love and protection. We ask God to guard your house from evil, to fill it with His peace, and to fix your hearts on Christ rather than on fear, trusting that He alone is your protection.
May the God of all mercy grant your father recovery as He wills, uphold your family with His love, and keep you all in the hope of His promises. We bring all these requests before the Father in the powerful name of Jesus our Savior. Amen.
