Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer for your father has been received with care, and we join you in bringing him and your whole family before the Father in the name of Jesus.
We are reminded that Jesus came to reveal the Father to us. He did not act on His own, but in perfect harmony with the Father who sent Him, doing the Father's works and speaking the Father's words. To see Jesus is to see the Father's heart. All of His compassion, all of His healing of sick bodies and mending of broken lives, shows us what the Father is like. He sought not His own will but the will of the Father, and He still does the Father's work today. Because of this we can come with confidence directly to the Father through Jesus, for the Father Himself loves you because you have loved His Son and have believed that He came from God.
We pray now for your father in that name. We ask the Father, in harmony with His gracious will, to touch your father's body as the great physician. We ask Him to bring healing to the brain and nerves, to restore movement, senses and reflexes, to steady blood pressure and all vital signs, and to grant strength to eat, to speak and to walk again. We ask for His mercy over every infection, over seizures, and over the painful sores that have not healed, that they would be cleansed and healed. We also ask Him to give wisdom, skill and compassion to every doctor, nurse and therapist who is caring for him.
We also hear your concern for spiritual protection for your home and family. Scripture teaches that we were all under a curse because none of us can keep the whole law perfectly, and the curse brings death. But Christ has redeemed us from that curse by becoming a curse for us when He hung on the cross. It is written, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. The crown of thorns He wore was itself a sign of the curse that came upon the earth through sin, and He bore it for us. Because He bore the curse, no curse, no spell, no work of darkness can have ultimate power over those who belong to Him. The blessing promised to Abraham comes to us not by physical descent but through faith in Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit. So we pray that your house would be set apart for the Lord and kept by His holy name, and that fear would be replaced with faith in the finished work of Christ. In Him you are safe.
We also pray for the forgiveness of sins, which comes through Jesus alone. He alone has been given all judgment, that all may honor the Son even as they honor the Father, and whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. There is no other way to the Father except through Him. We thank God that through His death and resurrection we can receive mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
For you and your family in this long and difficult season, we ask the Father to keep you through His own name, to surround you with His protection, and to give you unity, strength, faith and deep peace. May He sustain you day by day as you wait on Him and trust Him for the miracle you seek.
We commit your father, your home and each member of your family into the loving hands of the Father, praying all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, who is one with the Father and who reveals the Father to us. Amen.
