Resurrection.

Spirit hath not flesh and bones - Tim Keller

Idea of bodily resurrection is biblical. And there are many examples of Christ after resurrection eating, talking, and doing stuff with his disciples.

Jesus is risen from the dead. As Christians and as believers, we have been taught this. But I want to pose a question. Do we really, I mean really, believe that he is actually and bodily resurrected? I do believe this.

Why I post this question? Because at times I feel like that people, not even believers, really grasp what the resurrection means. Because if and when the resurrection is true, it radically changes everything. This means our journey is not just towards some vague spiritual afterlife but towards real eternal life. Towards concrete bodily eternity in a new heaven and earth, having our bodies transformed into resurrection bodies.

This idea of concrete and touchable life that goes on after life ends as we know it is the core essence of our faith. And our whole faith also stands on the premise of resurrection. And believing and really deeply understanding this radically shapes everything we do. This is why our faith has power and why it is so dangerous in the perspective of some people.

Listen to the sermon of Keller on the subject and share your thoughts.

He is indeed risen and lives today.

I am so glad to know that there is life beyond the grave. Most people wonder and fear what will happen to them when they pass away. Jesus gave us all hope and well-being right after our passing away to the other world. Looking forward to see it over yonder. If Jesus has risen from the dead, we shall also rise along with Him.

If Jesus did not resurrect from the dead then our faith would be worthless. Jesus is alive and well and He is coming soon to take us all home to heaven.

Indeed. I am happy to see that people are believing. Resurrection is real and truth that we have life as well.

I posted this thread because I don't see much people even those who claim to be Christians to actually and concretely believe in resurrection. Especially the church in my country seems to ignore the whole resurrection. Yet in its radicality it should be number one topic in the church.

Sadly enough, people nowadays seem to bypass the whole idea of resurrection without thinking it at all. Because once we start to think about the dead being concretely raised from the grave and made alive and believe it to be true, it will affect our reality. It will radically change things.

As it is, I pray that people would give more thought on this subject. And that those of us who do believe could live out our life in a way that proclaims resurrection. And to give people the good news, not only Jesus died for you but he also rose from the dead.
