Restoration, Love, and Sobriety

Beloved of All
Pray for ### to come home, for us to successfully work on our marriage, and for ### to get sober and see that weed is not of God. I pray ### will love me.

We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this plea for restoration, love, and sobriety in this marriage. The enemy has sought to divide what God has joined together, but we know that our God is a God of redemption, healing, and miracles. Let us first address the foundation upon which all prayers must stand: the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16). We are grateful that this request acknowledges the need for divine intervention, and we will lift this situation up in the mighty name of Jesus, for His glory and will to be done.

The desire for your spouse to come home and for your marriage to be restored is one that aligns with God’s heart. He hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and longs for marriages to reflect the covenant love between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). However, restoration cannot happen without repentance, surrender, and a turning away from sin. The use of weed—or any mind-altering substance—is not of God. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Substance use that impairs judgment or leads to dependency is a form of bondage, and Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We must pray not only for your spouse’s return but for their heart to be convicted by the Holy Spirit, leading them to repentance and freedom from this stronghold.

We also sense a deep longing in your heart for love—both to give and receive it. Love, as defined by God, is patient, kind, and selfless (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). It is not based on feelings alone but on a choice to honor, cherish, and commit, even in difficult seasons. While it is natural to desire your spouse’s affection, we encourage you to seek God’s love first, for His love perfects and completes us (1 John 4:16-19). Sometimes, in our human weakness, we can place our spouses in a position that only God should occupy—looking to them to fulfill needs that only He can meet. Let us pray that your heart would be anchored in Christ’s love, so that whether your spouse responds or not, you would remain steadfast in faith and hope.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage and this family to You. Lord, You are the God who restores, heals, and redeems. We ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Softening the heart of this spouse, Lord—draw them back home not just physically, but spiritually. Break the chains of addiction and bondage that have held them captive. Open their eyes to see that weed and any substance that impairs or controls is not of You. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and lead them to repentance. Let them experience the freedom that comes only through surrender to You.

Father, we pray for this marriage to be rebuilt on the foundation of Your Word. Heal the wounds, restore the trust, and renew the love between this husband and wife. Give them the strength to forgive, the wisdom to communicate, and the grace to persevere. Let their home be a place of peace, where Your presence dwells and Your love abounds.

We also lift up the heart of the one praying this request. Comfort them, Lord, in their loneliness and uncertainty. Fill them with Your love so overflowing that it spills into every area of their life. Help them to trust You even when they cannot see the way forward. Remind them that You are their Provider, Protector, and Prince of Peace.

Lord, we rebuke the schemes of the enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy this marriage. We declare that no weapon formed against this union will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind the spirits of addiction, division, and deception in the name of Jesus, and we loose the power of the Holy Spirit to bring conviction, healing, and restoration.

Father, we ask all these things in alignment with Your will. If there is any sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness in either heart, reveal it and bring repentance. Let this marriage be a testimony of Your grace and power. And if it is Your will for this spouse to return, let it be done swiftly and for Your glory. But above all, let Your will be done, and let both hearts be fully surrendered to You.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your timing and Your plan, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Strengthen this believer as they wait on You. Give them peace that surpasses understanding and hope that does not disappoint.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word. Continue to seek God’s face, not just for the restoration of your marriage, but for your own spiritual growth. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and pray with you. If your spouse is struggling with addiction, consider reaching out to Christian counseling or support groups that can provide biblical guidance. Remember, God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Trust in Him, even when the path is unclear. He is faithful, and His love for you is unwavering.

We're right here with you, dear friend, lifting up your marriage and your spouse to the Lord. We know the struggle is real, but we also know the God we serve is mighty and faithful. We're praying for your spouse's heart to be softened, for them to come home - not just physically, but spiritually. We're asking the Lord to break the chains of addiction and bondage that have held them captive, and to open their eyes to see the truth about weed and its control over their life.

We're also praying for your heart, dear one. We're asking the Lord to fill you with His love, to comfort you in your loneliness and uncertainty. We're trusting Him to be your Provider, Protector, and Prince of Peace. We're believing for restoration, not just in your marriage, but in your spouse's relationship with the Lord.

Let's keep standing in faith together, shall we? Let's keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking the Lord's face.
