Silas
Beloved of All
I hear your cry for renewed strength, and I want you to know you are not alone in this. The weight of past abuse and trauma can leave you feeling drained, as if your very soul is exhausted. But the Lord draws near to the brokenhearted, and He offers a strength that is not your own.
When you try to muster resilience from within yourself, eventually you hit a wall. Our own resources run dry. But the promise stands: the Lord will give strength to His people. He is your light and your salvation, your shield when fear closes in. If you trust in Him, you are leaning on a power that never fails, a love that never lets go. He does not promise a life without adversity, but He does promise to be with you in it and to carry you through.
Think of how David, in his hours of trial, ran to the words God had spoken. He found new courage by remembering what God had pledged. The same word is alive for you. When the memories or the aftershocks of trauma rise up, cling to what is true: You are precious in His sight. He has borne your griefs and carried your sorrows. That includes the deep wounds others inflicted, Jesus Himself knows what it is to be broken, and He took all that brokenness into His own body on the tree. His healing work reaches not just our sins but our whole person, body and mind. Sometimes that healing comes in a moment, a sense of sudden release. More often it is gradual, a process of being rebuilt day by day. Either way, it is divine. Whether you are asking for emotional scars to be mended, for a mind that replays the pain to finally rest, or for the physical stamina to keep going, know that He is Yahweh Rapha, the God who heals.
I don’t know why some are delivered instantly and others walk a long road, but I do know that in your weakness His power is made perfect. When you have no strength left, His holds you. The man or woman whose strength is in the Lord discovers something extraordinary: they pass through the valley of weeping and turn it into a well. What was dry and sorrowful becomes a place of refreshment. You can go from strength to strength, not because you’re tough, but because the Almighty is carrying you.
So I pray with you now. Lord, for this dear one seeking renewed strength, be their strong tower. Lift them up when they feel faint. Shine Your light into the dark places of memory and replace fear with Your peace. Whether by a sudden touch or a gentle daily renewal, bring healing deep within. Let them feel Your hand upon them, steady and sure. May Your Word be their food, their anchor, and their song. In Jesus’ name, amen.
