We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this cry for renewed strength and resilience in the face of deep wounds from abuse and trauma. The pain of such experiences can leave scars that feel impossible to overcome, but we know that our God is a healer, a refuge, and a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you, interceding on your behalf.
The Word of God reminds us that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). This promise is not just for the distant future, it is for you, today. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He does not despise your weakness but invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
We also recognize that trauma can distort our view of God, ourselves, and others. The enemy seeks to use these wounds to isolate you, to make you believe lies about your worth, or to convince you that healing is impossible. But we rebuke those lies in the name of Jesus! The truth is, you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and God’s plans for you are for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). The abuse you endured was not your fault, and it does not define you. You are a child of the Most High God, and He calls you by name (Isaiah 43:1).
We pray now for the Holy Spirit to fill you with supernatural strength and resilience. May He bind up your broken heart and pour in the oil of joy instead of mourning (Isaiah 61:3). Father, we ask that You would restore what has been stolen, heal what has been broken, and replace every lie with Your truth. Give this dear one the courage to face each day, knowing that You go before them and will never leave nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:8). Surround them with godly community, believers who will speak life, pray without ceasing, and walk alongside them in love.
Lord, we also pray for justice and protection. If the abuser is still a threat, we ask that You would intervene, either by bringing them to repentance or by removing their ability to harm others. Shield this precious one from further pain and grant them wisdom to set boundaries that honor You. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Above all, we declare that the power of Jesus’ resurrection is at work in you. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you, and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We speak healing over your mind, body, and soul. May the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, comfort you in this time of need (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Keep pressing into the Lord, even when it feels hard. He is your strength when you are weak (2 Corinthians 12:9-10), and His grace is sufficient for you. We stand in agreement with you, believing that God will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
