We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is enduring the deep wounds of abuse and trauma. The pain you carry is real, and the weight of it can feel unbearable at times. But we stand with you in faith, declaring that the God of all comfort sees you, hears you, and is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He is not distant from your suffering, He is right there in the midst of it, holding you, sustaining you, and working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Father God, we ask You to renew their strength as You have promised in Your Word: "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). Lord, we pray that You would lift them up on wings of hope, that You would infuse their weary spirit with Your supernatural resilience. Heal the places where trauma has left scars, both seen and unseen. Restore what has been stolen, and replace fear with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep them bound in shame, isolation, or despair. The devil wants you to believe that you are defined by what was done to you, but God says you are defined by what He has done for you through the blood of Jesus Christ. You are not a victim, you are an overcomer (1 John 4:4). You are not abandoned, you are deeply loved (Jeremiah 31:3). You are not weak, you are being made strong in Christ (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

If there are areas where bitterness, unforgiveness, or anger have taken root, we encourage you to surrender those to the Lord. Holding onto them only prolongs the pain. Jesus said, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15). Forgiveness is not about excusing what was done to you, it’s about freeing yourself from the prison of resentment. It’s a process, and the Holy Spirit will help you walk through it step by step.

We also want to gently remind you that healing is not a journey you walk alone. God often uses His people, pastors, counselors, trusted believers, to bring restoration. If you haven’t already, consider reaching out to a biblical counselor or a support group for survivors of abuse. There is no shame in seeking help; in fact, it is a courageous step toward wholeness.

Above all, we pray that you would draw near to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He knows what it is to suffer unjustly, to be betrayed, to be broken. He is acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3), and He invites you to cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let His love be the balm that soothes your soul. Let His Word be the lamp that guides your steps. And let His presence be the anchor that holds you steady in the storm.

Lord, we ask You to surround this dear one with Your angels, to shield their heart from further harm, and to fill them with a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit. May they experience Your healing touch in ways that only You can provide. Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8). We declare that their latter days will be greater than their former (Job 42:12), and that the glory of God will shine through their testimony of overcoming.

The exhaustion you're carrying makes deep sense to us. Trauma and abuse drain us in ways that go far beyond physical tiredness, they wear down our sense of who we are, our hope that things can be different, our ability to imagine a future that isn't shaped by what happened. When you find yourself needing renewed strength, it's because you've been using everything you had just to keep going. That's not weakness. That's the cost of surviving something no one should have had to endure.

We've walked alongside enough people in recovery to know that strength often returns in small, quiet increments rather than one dramatic surge. It shows up when you notice you went half an hour without the memory intruding. When you realize you made a decision based on what you want rather than out of fear. When you let someone safe sit with you in the heaviness instead of isolating. Resilience gets built in those moments, and God is present in all of them.

One tangible step that has helped many survivors is identifying just one relationship where you don't have to perform or pretend, a support group for those who've experienced abuse, a wise friend, a counselor who understands trauma. Not to fix anything quickly, but to let someone else carry a little of the weight with you. Healing happens in community far more than it does alone.

Jesus, we come with our friend who is so tired. You see what it has cost to keep fighting, to keep getting up, to keep hoping. Meet them in the weariness today, not with platitudes, but with Your steady, present comfort. Give them the specific strength needed for today's battles, not tomorrow's. Surround them with people who will be safe and patient companions in this long work of healing. And when courage falters, be the courage they cannot muster themselves. We ask this in Your name, amen.

It is well that you have turned your face toward the throne of grace, for in seasons when the scars of the past ache and the spirit is bowed low, we prove most keenly that we have no strength of our own. But here is a precious truth for your solace: the glory of our strength lies in God alone. You are counting the cost of sustained endurance, and the well feels dry. Do not imagine that you must muster some native resilience from within the wreckage, for the secret lies in being linked to God and waiting upon Him for everything, casting your nothingness upon His Omnipotence.

Look to the great Physician who does not merely point out the disease but applies the very remedy. Calvary is the place for the healing balm rather than for the lancet and the knife. When Jesus heals, He speaks a double cure, for pardon and healing are one in His gracious hand. Renew your strength by continually waiting upon Him. As the eagle’s vitality is renewed by the pure air of the upper sky, so shall your spirit revive as you breathe the atmosphere of His presence, far above the smoky fumes of earthly sorrow. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ; the very leaves of that tree are for the healing of your wounded heart. Lay yourself entirely upon Him for renewed consecration, renewed zeal, and a renewed hope of victory, and He will infuse His strength in wise measure. When you have no strength left, then are you in the very condition to receive His all-sufficient might. Go now from strength to strength, trusting not in yourself, but in Him who has promised, “I will strengthen them in the Lord.” Let your watchword be:

“A guilty, weak, and helpless worm,
On Christ’s kind arms I fall;
He is my strength and righteousness,
My Jesus, and my all.”

To ask for renewed strength is to seek the very work of the Spirit. You are not asking to return to some former, untouched brightness, for that was entirely grace; but when those who have been made new grow old again through the wounds and weariness that life inflicts, repentance sets them free from that old age and makes them strong. This renewal happens in the spirit of your mind. The person remains the same, but what is accidental, the weakness, the despair, is changed. Whoever has the Spirit will not perform the old deeds of fear and dejection, for the Spirit does not endure them.

Consider Sarah, who received power to conceive seed when she was past age, her body as good as dead. By faith, what was barren became fruitful. So too, when you feel utterly drained, unable to rise, faith can receive strength from the God who promises. Do not look at those who seem to prosper in evil while you suffer; God’s patience with you is not neglect but a medicine. Gently receive His longsuffering, and you will gain great benefit from it, your soul will be made resilient.

When shame tells you that you have no right to ask boldly, remember that Canaanite woman. She had no confidence in herself, yet she put forward even her shamelessness and cried, “Help me.” Christ honored that urgent faith. So draw near with a true heart and full assurance, having your conscience sprinkled clean. The many sacrifices of old offered daily could never remove the deep stain, but Christ was offered once for all. You need not plead as though His work were unfinished. Let that single, all-powerful sacrifice anchor you. His Spirit is in your mind to renew you. Therefore, be strong, not with the softness of luxury, but with the inward might that comes from grace. These trials may buffet you, but they have no ultimate power. Cling to Christ, and He will make you stand.

The cry for renewed strength and resilience after enduring abuse and trauma is one that rises straight to the throne of God. When your own resources are drained and the weight of the past presses in, know that the Lord is your strength. He does not stand far off, but draws near to the brokenhearted. Because He is your light and your salvation, you do not need to be paralyzed by fear. He watches over you, and He will hold you steady.

It is easy to believe that we must find some secret inner strength to survive, but relying solely on ourselves will always run dry. The blessed person is the one who has learned to stop looking within and instead trusts in the Lord’s strength. In the very place where you are weak and know you are weak, His power is made perfect. That is where resilience is born, not from your own grit, but from leaning fully on Him. He becomes a strong tower, a shelter where you can abide while the storm rages.

Jesus walked among people whose bodies and souls were shattered by the cruelty of others. He touched lepers, delivered the demonized, and healed every kind of sickness. In His compassion, He bore our griefs and carried our sorrows, and by His wounds we find healing. That healing is not always an instantaneous flash. Sometimes it is gradual, a deep work in the mind and emotions that rewires the scars left by trauma. Some days you might feel a tangible touch of His restoring power. At other times, you simply cling to His promise while the slow, divine process of renewal mends what was broken. All healing that comes from Him is real and precious, whether it moves swiftly or gently over time.

When you are passing through the valley of weeping, where the memory of abuse makes every step heavy, make the Lord your strength, and He can turn that dry, sorrowful place into a well of refreshment. He gives strength to His people and blesses them with peace. This is not a shallow peace that denies the pain, but the deep, anchoring peace that comes from knowing the God of the universe sits on the throne and is, in this very moment, imparting His strength to you.

That is why hiding His Word in your heart is so vital. The Scriptures become a citadel of strength in the hours of trial, lifting you from an attitude of defeat into one of victory and confidence, because you are standing on what God has promised, not on how you feel. Prayer, too, is a place of strength. Bring every wound, every fearful thought, every wave of exhaustion to Him. As you do, He will lift you up, and your enemies, whether those are memories, lies, or despair, will not have the final word over you.

May the Lord touch your life right now with His gift of renewed strength. May you experience His healing, whether in your emotions, your mind, or your body, as you fix your eyes on Jesus. And may He grant you the resilience to face each new day, not because you are strong in yourself, but because His strength has become your portion. The Lord will give strength to His people. That is His unfailing promise over you, in Jesus’ name.
