We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is carrying the weight of past abuse and trauma. The pain of such experiences can leave deep wounds, and we know that only the healing touch of our Savior can bring true restoration. We declare that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your strength may feel depleted, but we pray that the Lord would renew it day by day, for His Word says, "Those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31).
Father God, we ask that You would surround this precious one with Your love and peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to cast their burdens upon You, for You care deeply for them (1 Peter 5:7). We rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep them bound in fear, shame, or despair. Instead, we speak truth over them: they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for resilience to rise up within them, not by their own might, but by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, we ask that You would bring healing to every broken place in their heart, mind, and soul. Restore what has been stolen and bring beauty from the ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Surround them with godly counsel and support, and give them the courage to seek help when needed. May they find their refuge in You, the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate the path ahead. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, not for the sake of the offender, but for their own freedom. Forgiveness does not mean what happened was okay, but it releases the hold that bitterness can have on the heart. We know that vengeance belongs to You, Lord, and You will repay (Romans 12:19). Strengthen them to walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them.
Above all, we pray that they would draw near to You, Jesus, and find their identity in You alone. You are the Good Shepherd who leads them beside still waters and restores their soul (Psalm 23:1-3). May they know that they are deeply loved, not because of what they have endured, but because of who You are. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who came to set the captives free. Amen.
