We lift you up before the throne of grace, dear brother or sister in Christ, knowing that the Lord sees your pain and hears your cry. The wounds of abuse and trauma run deep, and the journey toward healing can feel overwhelming, but we stand with you in faith, believing that God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness.
The Scriptures tell us in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Though the road may be long, the Lord promises to sustain you, to lift you up, and to carry you when your own strength fails. He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten, and you are not alone.
We also declare over you the truth of 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, where the Lord says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, we rejoice in our weaknesses, for when we are weak, then we are strong in Him. The enemy may have sought to destroy you, but God will use even this for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28). We rebuke the lies of shame, fear, and despair that may linger from past abuse, for "there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). You are washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, and your identity is found in Him alone, not in the words or actions of those who sought to harm you.
We pray now for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit to fill you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May He guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask the Lord to heal every broken place, to restore what was stolen, and to replace every lie with His truth. Give you courage to face each day, knowing that He goes before you and stands behind you (Deuteronomy 31:8). Strengthen your faith to trust in His timing and His ways, even when the path is unclear.
Father God, we ask that You surround this dear one with Your love and protection. Raise up godly counselors, mentors, and fellow believers to walk alongside them in this season. Help them to release bitterness and forgive, not for the sake of their abusers, but for their own freedom (Ephesians 4:31-32). Teach them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and let them experience the fullness of life that Christ came to give (John 10:10).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate relationships and boundaries. Protect them from further harm and guide them into safe, healthy connections with those who will encourage their walk with You. May they find their ultimate security and worth in You alone, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we command every spirit of fear, oppression, and trauma to flee. We declare that this one is covered by the blood of Jesus, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and destined for victory. May they rise up in the strength of the Lord, clothed in His righteousness, and walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them.

When the soul is worn thin by memory and sorrow, when the heart is pressed down by the weight of another's sin, you must not look within for a store of power, for human strength is a dry brook in drought. Fling yourself upon omnipotence. Cast your nothingness upon His all-sufficiency, and in that sacred exchange your weakness will be absorbed by His might. There is no strength to be had apart from God; all that you need is hid in Him, and He bestows it upon those who draw near with empty hands and open mouths.
The joy of the Lord is your strength. I do not speak of a giddy happiness that ignores the deep wounding of the past, but of a steadfast, quiet joy rooted in the finished work of Christ. When you see Jesus as your righteousness, your peace, and your portion, an inward gladness springs up that becomes a fortress to the soul. This joy is of divine origin and is itself a source of strength; it crouches in the heart and bides its time, unmoved by the surges of grief. Let your sorrow drive you deeper into this holy joy, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
Expect that strength to be given as your days demand, not as your fears imagine. When you have come to the very gates of Hell, the vestibule of anguish itself, it is still possible to recover, to renew your strength, to lay hold on eternal life. How many after long insensibility have suddenly brought forth abundant fruit? That one last blow that fells the tree owes its success to all the strokes before. So also your continual cry for renewal will not fail. I am fully persuaded: it is not possible that such eager desire, such love of calling on the name of Jesus, should remain without effect. Even if now you do not see the fruit, hereafter you shall.
Do not dwell on the wickedness done to you, lest you become like those who, seeing evil go unpunished, grow worse. Consider rather how gentle souls gain great benefit from the long-suffering of God. He permits trials not to destroy but to heal. See how Christ, when they came to seize him, manifested his power on every side. He cast them down, he healed the wounded, he warned them. From all angles he showed that his suffering was by his own permission. So in your trauma, he is not absent. He is present to build your strength, to turn what was meant for evil into the occasion of greater grace.
Therefore do not flee from these struggles as though they could injure you beyond his protection, for they have no strength unless he allows. Yet do not be indifferent, passively letting despair take root. Instead, hear carefully what he is doing. Look closely at what he intends. He does not seek your overthrow but your restoration. Let this trial not shake your faith, but be an opportunity to display and frame it unto greater strength. I say all this not doubting your faith, but to make it approved, to provoke you to forwardness in hope, that you may obtain the everlasting blessings.

When you're worn down by the unrelenting weight of past abuse and present wounds, finding strength in your own reserves will only carry you so far. There comes a day when that inner well runs dry, when the pain is too deep and the memories too sharp. But the Lord does not ask you to manufacture resilience from your own broken heart. He promises to be your strength. David knew the terror of being hunted and the anguish of a soul in distress, yet he could still cry out that the Lord was his light and his salvation. The God who sits enthroned above all things sees every hidden scar, and He offers you His own strength in exchange for your weakness. You don't have to pretend you're strong enough; you simply need to lean hard on the One whose strength is made perfect in your frailty.
Healing is woven through the ministry of Jesus. He touched lepers, calmed demoniacs who terrified whole towns, and restored minds and bodies alike. Sometimes healing came instantly, at other times gradually, but every act of restoration flowed from the same compassionate heart. When Jesus bore our infirmities, He took upon Himself the full scope of our brokenness, physical and spiritual.
