We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is carrying the weight of past abuse and trauma. The pain of such experiences can feel overwhelming, and the journey toward healing is often long and difficult. But we know that our God is the God of all comfort, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and renews the strength of those who wait on Him.
Father, we ask You to pour out Your healing balm upon this precious one. Where there is brokenness, bring restoration. Where there is fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear. Where there is weariness, renew their strength as You promise in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Lord, let them feel Your presence lifting them up, carrying them when they cannot walk, and strengthening them when they feel weak.
We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be whispering despair, shame, or hopelessness. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against this child of God will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in agreement with Your truth that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).
Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them the resilience to face each day, knowing that You are with them, and that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). Help them to release the burdens they have carried for too long into Your capable hands, trusting that You will work all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate their healing journey. Lead them to godly counsel, supportive believers, and resources that will help them walk in freedom. May they find solace in Your Word, which is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). Let them meditate on Your promises day and night, so that they may be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season and never withering (Psalm 1:2-3).
Above all, we pray that they would draw near to You, Father, and that You would draw near to them (James 4:8). May they experience the depth of Your love in a tangible way, knowing that nothing can separate them from Your love in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
