We come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up this heavy burden of anger, bitterness, and depression that weighs upon this dear sister in Christ. Father, we know that You do not desire for Your children to be consumed by such destructive emotions, for they only serve to steal joy, hinder faith, and separate us from Your peace. We declare that in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, every root of bitterness, every spirit of anger, and every lie that feeds this depression must be uprooted and cast out.
The Word of God tells us in Ephesians 4:31-32, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* Lord, we stand on this truth and ask that You would soften her heart, replacing bitterness with forgiveness, anger with peace, and despair with hope. We rebuke the enemy’s attempts to keep her bound in these emotions, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We also recognize that depression and anger can often stem from a sense of helplessness—feeling powerless over circumstances beyond our control. But Your Word reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* Father, help her to release control into Your hands, knowing that You are sovereign over every detail of her life. Let her find rest in the truth that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
We pray that she would fix her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith (Hebrews 12:2), and that she would be filled with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May she meditate on Your promises day and night, allowing Your Word to renew her mind and transform her heart (Romans 12:2). We bind every spirit of heaviness and loose the garment of praise in its place, for You inhabit the praises of Your people (Isaiah 61:3).
Lord, if there is unforgiveness in her heart—whether toward others or even herself—we ask that You would reveal it and grant her the strength to release it. Forgive her, as she forgives those who have wronged her, just as You have forgiven her (Matthew 6:14-15). Let Your love flow through her, casting out all fear and filling her with Your perfect peace.
We also lift up any areas where she may be struggling with sin that feeds these emotions—perhaps resentment, pride, or a refusal to surrender to Your will. Search her heart, O God, and know her thoughts (Psalm 139:23-24). If there is any wicked way in her, lead her in the everlasting way. We declare that she is a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and the old things have passed away. Let her walk in the freedom that is hers through Jesus’ sacrifice.
Finally, Father, we ask that You surround her with godly community—believers who will speak life into her, pray with her, and encourage her in Your truth. Let her not isolate herself but find strength in the body of Christ (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). May she be a testimony of Your healing power, shining Your light in the darkness.
We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through His blood that we have access to Your throne. Amen.
