We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your heart, and we stand with you before the Lord, lifting up your cries as holy and sacred. You are carrying a weight that no one should bear alone, and yet you are fighting not just for yourself, but for your precious daughter, for her future, her security, and her right to grow up in a home where Christ’s love is the foundation. Your love for her is a reflection of God’s own love for His children, and He sees every tear, every sleepless night, and every prayer whispered through exhaustion.

First, we must address the reality of what is happening in your home. The Bible is clear that marriage is a covenant, not just between two people, but before God, a sacred vow to love, honor, and cherish one another as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). The behaviors you describe, drinking, drug use, manipulation by family, and the threat of infidelity, are not just personal failures; they are violations of that covenant. Proverbs 22:15 warns, "Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline will remove it far from him." Your partner is not just struggling with maturity; he is ensnared by sin, and sin always brings destruction, first to the individual, then to those who love them.

We must also rebuke the influence of his mother and his friends. The Bible commands us to leave our parents and cleave to our spouse (Genesis 2:24), yet his mother is overstepping her role, and his friends are leading him toward betrayal. This is not love; it is bondage. Proverbs 13:20 says, "He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." His choices are not just hurting you; they are hardening his own heart and leading him away from God’s best for his life.

You mentioned feeling "not worthy" of his presence or time, but we must remind you: your worth is not defined by his treatment of you. Your worth is defined by the blood of Jesus, who died for you while you were still a sinner (Romans 5:8). You are a daughter of the King, and no man, not even the one who vowed to love you, has the right to make you feel otherwise. The enemy wants you to believe the lie that you are not enough, but God says you are chosen, holy, and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12).

Now, let us pray:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this sister and her daughter. Lord, You see the pain, the exhaustion, and the fear that grips her. You see the brokenness in her home, the sin that entangles her partner, and the lies that seek to destroy her hope. We ask, Father, that You would break every chain of addiction, manipulation, and rebellion in ###’s life. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the destruction his choices are bringing, not just to himself, but to the family You have entrusted to him. Give him a godly sorrow that leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10), and let him turn to You with humility and surrender.

We pray for protection over this marriage, Lord. Guard it from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to divide and destroy. Where there is bitterness, bring forgiveness. Where there is neglect, bring responsibility. Where there is sin, bring conviction and restoration. And where there is hopelessness, bring Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask that You would strengthen this sister. Remind her daily of her worth in You. Give her the wisdom to set boundaries, the courage to stand firm in her faith, and the grace to extend love even when it is not returned. Protect her heart from bitterness, and let her find her identity in You alone. For her daughter, we pray for safety, stability, and a future where she knows the love of a father who reflects Your heart.

Lord, if ### will not change, give this sister the strength to make the hard decisions necessary to protect herself and her child. We trust You to be her Provider, her Protector, and her Peace. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. Amen."

We must also speak truth into your situation with love: you cannot save this marriage alone. Your partner must choose repentance, sobriety, and responsibility. While we pray for his transformation, we must also prepare you for the possibility that he may not change. Proverbs 21:1 reminds us, "The king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever He desires." Only God can change a heart, and sometimes, He allows hardship to bring about that change.

If your partner continues in sin without repentance, you may need to seek godly counsel, from a pastor, a biblical counselor, or a trusted mentor, to discuss what steps to take next. This may include separation for a time, not out of anger, but out of a desire to see him face the consequences of his actions and turn back to God. 1 Corinthians 7:15 says, "But if the unbeliever departs, let there be separation. The brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us to peace." Your safety and your daughter’s well-being must come first.

You are not alone in this. The Lord is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep crying out to Him. Keep standing on His promises. And remember: your faithfulness in this storm is not in vain. Whether your marriage is restored or you walk a different path, God will use this pain for His glory and your good (Romans 8:28).

You are seen. You are loved. And you are not forgotten.

We hear the exhaustion in your words, the ache of carrying so much alone, all while caring for a newborn. It’s no small thing to keep showing up, to keep hoping when the effort feels one-sided and you’re watching addiction pull him away. You don’t have to be strong every minute; even the strongest souls need a place to let the weight down.

The drinking, the drugs, the outside voices pulling him in every direction, that’s a pattern more powerful than any one person can manage or love away. His behavior isn’t a reflection of your worth. Addiction often means that someone is running from pain or responsibility, and until he chooses to face that, the dance stays the same. You cannot be the only one fighting for this family. Your energy needs guarding now, for yourself and for your daughter.

One of the most loving things you can do right now is to reach out for real, steady support beyond yourself. Find a group like Al‑Anon, Celebrate Recovery’s family group, or a wise mentor at church who understands the chaos that addiction brings. These are places where you can sort through what you can and can’t control, learn to set boundaries that protect your peace, and simply be heard without judgment. You were never meant to carry this in secret.

We’re praying with you, not because you have to be “worthy,” but because you’re loved.

Father, we lift up this weary mom. Hold her steady when she feels like breaking. Give her courage to seek the help she needs, and surround her with people who will walk this road with her. Watch over that precious little girl, and give her mother wisdom and clarity for each next step. For the baby’s father, we ask You to break through the lies and the numbing, to bring him to a place where he’s ready to get honest help. We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we trust You to provide shelter and strength today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your heart is in an agony, and you feel as if you are breaking in two while the very support you crave is giving way beneath your feet. You describe a man who is as a broken fence, every evil beast of the field may enter in because the wall of his character is thrown down. The drink, the drugs, the vile counsel from companions who urge treachery against your marriage covenant, the strange gods of a mother’s domination, these are not surface scratches, but bones broken indeed. And broken bones are not a trifle to laugh at; they cripple a soul, and they cripple a home. You are trying to hold together what no mere human strength can mend, and you cry out for a miracle. That is well, for the God who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds is the very One to whom you must look.

Yet oh, consider this: there is a difference between a keen desire for your family to be preserved and a thoroughgoing casting of yourself upon the Lord Jesus Christ for your own soul’s safety. You speak of being not always worthy of His love, and that is a right confession, for none of us are. But Christ came not for the righteous, but for sinners. If you are as one with broken bones, unable to stand, then you are the very patient the Great Physician delights to heal. Look away from the wreckage around you and the disappointment clawing at your spirit, and first make your own calling and election sure. Are you in the ark? Noah entered with his household, but he entered himself. The covenant was with him, and his family came in because he brought them in. You cannot drag another across the threshold of the ark by force, but you may and must, by prayer and a consistent life, point him to the only refuge.

I would charge you with this: let not your family altar grow cold. You have a newborn daughter, precious gift, and in that little one you have fresh motive to cry out to God with double zeal. Family prayer is the castle of Protestantism, the nutriment of family piety. Even if you must go alone to that mercy seat with the child in your arms, do not neglect it. Do you think it would be a small matter if your daughter grew up in a house where prayer had ceased? You say the father listens to everyone else’s opinions but never trusts yours. Then let your chief argument be spoken into the ear of God. Wrestle at the throne of grace for that man’s soul, not merely for his reformation. A sobered-up drunkard who is still a stranger to grace is a broken column, snapped off short, appearances may seem repaired, but without a new heart he will fall again into the mire. What that man needs is not a mere alteration of habits, but a vital change, a conversion by the Holy Spirit. And the Lord can do it in an instant, for the change that makes a saint fit for heaven is so slight a work for Omnipotence that it can be finished in a moment.

Do not make the blunder of thinking that because you cannot see the Spirit’s work, He is not working. God is not limited to dreams and visions; He leads His children by the unseen hand upon the helm. The whole family in heaven and earth is one, and none of that family is truly known by outward things, but by the inward mark of being led by the Spirit of God. Pray that this man, who is now led by his companions and his own lusts, might be brought to be led of God. And while you pray, beware of despair. Some broken bones, once healed, leave a lingering weakness, but even then, the rejoicing may be all the sweeter. The bones which God has broken may yet rejoice, not by becoming painless and indifferent, but by being made to sing with gratitude for the Healer’s touch.

As for the mother who would usurp your place, and the friends who sow poison in his ear, the hedge of your family is broken down by these intruders, but the Lord can build it up again. A clear view of God in Christ and a vivid sense of Jesus’ love is the sweet reward for broken idols and family reformation. You are tempted to give up, but what would become of the child then? Hold your ground. You are not alone if you are in Christ; you are part of the great household of faith that spans heaven and earth, and the Head of that household is able to supply all your need. Do not think it strange that the road is rough. Many a saint has found peace broken through just such domestic tempests, but peace may be restored when faith takes hold anew upon the promises.

Cry to God in secret, in the family, and wherever you find a moment to lift your heart. The walls may be down now, but the Master-builder can restore them. Only take heed that you do not make unto yourself a broken resolve, saying, “I will follow the Lord, but, ” and there leave the sentence snapped in two. Let there be no “but” in your surrender. Say rather, “Though everything else crumble, though this trial be like a sword in my bones, yet will I trust in Him.” The Lord Jesus’ own heart was broken that your heart might be bound up. Cast your burden on Him. He will not suffer the righteous to be moved for ever. He will arise for your help, and perhaps you shall yet see that man who now plays the prodigal brought home to God and to his family, not because you were strong enough to mend him, but because the God of all grace delights to answer the prayer of the helpless.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
