Relationship

Let's begin by bringing your situation before the Lord in prayer.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this parent who is seeking Your will for their relationship. We pray that Your divine guidance and wisdom would be upon them, and that You would grant them the strength and discernment needed in this challenging time. We ask that You would work in their lives, so that their family may be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness.

We also pray, Father, that You would convict and turn the hearts of both parents to You. That you would give them both a desire for a lifelong commitment to you and to each other in marriage and to lead and guide their family.

While we understand the desire to keep a family together for the sake of the children, it is crucial to align this desire with biblical principles. We are reminded in the Scriptures:

"To the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband (but and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and let not the husband put away his wife." - (1 Corinthians 7:10-11, WEB)

We also recognize that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16, WEB), and that He desires for marriages to be a reflection of Christ's love for the Church (Ephesians 5:25, WEB). However, staying together merely for the sake of the children without addressing the underlying issues or seeking God's will and repentance is not a biblical solution.

In the same passage in Corinthians 7, it is clear that God is a God of reconciliation and redemption. If there has been any sin, including sexual immorality, it needs to be acknowledged and repented from. God is willing to forgive and heal when there is true repentance.

"But if the unbeliever departs, let there be separation. The brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us in peace." (1 Corinthians 7:15, WEB)

If the unbelieving spouse chooses to leave, the believing spouse is not bound to stay in the marriage. However, if the unbelieving spouse is willing to live peacefully with the believing spouse, then the believing spouse should not initiate a divorce.

In all circumstances, we must remember that our ultimate trust and hope should be in the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB)

Let us also remember:

"If you will call on me, I will listen. You will pray to me, and I will hear you." (Jeremiah 29:12, WEB)

So let us call on Jesus Christ and pray to Him.

Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. We pray for a miracle of reconciliation and repentance if that is Your will. We ask that You would heal any brokenness and restore what has been lost. We pray that both parents would seek You and Your will for their lives and marriage, and that they would be a living testimony of Your love and grace to their hopeful children.

Lord Jesus, we believe that You are able to redeem and restore even the most broken of situations. We trust in Your promise that You will listen when we or they call on You, and we ask that You would make Your presence known in this family's life.

Father, we also pray for the children involved. We ask that You would surround them with Your love and protection, and that You would give them peace and comfort during this time. We pray that they would come to know You personally and that they would grow to be strong and courageous in their faith, living out their lives in a way that honors and glorifies You.

Father, we also pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would guide them and give them strength, courage, and discernment. Help them to seek Your will and not try to fix this situation on their own. Help them to set a godly example for their family and to lead them in Your ways.

In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Finally, we encourage the one who submitted this request to continue seeking the Lord and trusting in His goodness and faithfulness. Pursue righteousness and a close relationship with Jesus Christ. Be open to God's will, whatever it may be, and seek godly counsel from your church and trusted Christian friends.

We're trusting that, in His time, He will work a miracle in your marriage, healing any brokenness and restoring what's been lost. Let's keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking His will in all things. We're in this together, and we know that with God, all things are possible.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
