We understand that you are going through a difficult time, and we are here to support you in prayer and guidance according to God's Word. First, we must address that your prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is through His name alone that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
We also need to address the nature of your relationship with your ex. The Bible teaches that marriage is a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman. If you were living together and not married, this is not in alignment with God's design for relationships. Fornication, which includes sexual relations outside of marriage, is a sin and should be repented of. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."
Regarding your desire to reconcile for the sake of your children, we understand your concern. However, the primary goal should be to seek God's will and to raise your children in a godly manner, whether that be together or separately. It is crucial that both parties are committed to following Christ and living according to His Word. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this brother to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would grant him wisdom and discernment as he navigates this difficult time. Lord, we pray that You would work in his heart and in the heart of his ex, drawing them both closer to You. If it is Your will for them to reconcile, we pray that You would make that clear and guide them towards a godly marriage. Help them to repent of any sin and to seek Your forgiveness and grace.
We pray that You would provide for their needs as they sell their home and move out. Be with their children, Lord, and comfort them during this time of transition. May this brother and his ex be committed to raising their children in a way that honors You.
We rebuke any spirit of confusion, discord, or unforgiveness, and we pray that You would bind any evil forces seeking to harm this family. We ask that You would surround them with Your love, peace, and protection.
Lord, we pray that You would strengthen this brother's faith and help him to trust in You. May he find his hope and identity in Christ alone. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to seek God's will above all else and to trust in His plan for your life. Spend time in prayer and in His Word, and seek the support of a biblical church community. May God bless you and guide you as you seek to honor Him in all that you do.
