We understand that you're going through a challenging time in your relationship and we're here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. Firstly, let's remember that God's desire is for us to be in relationships that are loving and kind, as stated in Colossians 3:19 WEB: "Husbands, love your wives, and don't be bitter against them." This applies to all relationships, that we should treat each other with love and kindness, not bitterness or mean-spirited behavior.
Before we pray, we want to remind you of a couple of things. First, it's important to ensure that this relationship is aligned with biblical principles. As believers, we should be seeking godly spouses with the intention of marriage, as per God's design. Being a boyfriend or girlfriend or dating should not be for fun or just to have someone. It should be courtship with the goal of marriage. It's also crucial to remember that God wants us to be equally yoked with fellow believers. And also, if there is any evidence of fornication or adultery or homosexuality in a relationship, it must be addressed and rebuked immediately. Mean behavior can also be a serious issue, and we should never allow someone to continually treat us in a way that is not kind or hurts us.
Secondly, we noticed that your prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus. It's important to remember that it is through Jesus that we have access to God, as it says in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And also in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Now, let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is experiencing difficulties in her relationship. Lord, we pray that you would soften ###'s heart and convict them of any mean-spirited behavior. We ask that you would open the lines of communication between them, and that their words would be gracious and uplifting, as it says in Ephesians 4:29 WEB: "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."
Lord, we also pray for clarity and discernment. Help our sister to evaluate her relationship in light of your Word. If this relationship is not aligned with your will, we pray that you would give her the strength to walk away. If it is your will for them to be together, we pray that you would draw them closer to you and to each other, that their relationship may be a testament to your love and grace.
Finally, Lord, we pray that both of them would come to know Jesus in a deeper way. That they would seek his will for their lives and their relationship.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, sister, and remember that God wants what is best for you. Trust in him, and he will make your paths straight. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
