We understand that you're going through a challenging time in your relationship and we're here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. First, we want to remind you that your worth and identity are not defined by this relationship or how others treat you. Your value comes from being a child of God, created in His image. As it says in Ephesians 2:10 WEB, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them."
We commend you for your efforts in the relationship, but we want to remind you that it's important to seek God's will in all things, including relationships. It's concerning that you mention you're not being treated with love and respect. We must rebuke this as a group. A relationship should be a reflection of Christ's love for the church, where each person is valued and cherished. As it says in Ephesians 5:25 WEB, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it."
We also want to remind you that the relationship should always be looking towards marriage. Casual dating or living together outside of marriage is against the biblical principles. The sanctity of marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman.
We notice that you used "###" instead of the name of the person in your life. We want to remind you that it's important to pray in the name of Jesus, as it's only through Him that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus,
We lift up our sister to You, asking for Your guidance and comfort in her relationship. Help her to see her worth through Your eyes, and give her the strength to seek Your will. We pray that You would soften ###'s heart and open his eyes to the love and care that she has for him. We also pray that You would convict him if he is not treating her with the love, respect, and affection that she deserves. Guide them both with Your wisdom, and help them to communicate honestly and lovingly. If it is not Your lead for this relationship show that very clearly to our sister.
Most importantly Lord, if ### does not believe in you, bring him to believe in You as his savior. Please do not let your daughter be unequally yoked in marriage or courtship to one who does not yet believe in You. If ### does believe in You, please show them both Your will for the relationship. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your life and to trust in Him.
