Dear God, I feel like I can’t do anything anymore. I’ve stopped loving myself. I never feel joy or joyous anymore. I feel like I never make anyone proud and it’s becoming quite hard to stay positive. My surroundings are matching the energy I feel inside and everyone like my parents, etc., are telling me to give up on ### but that’s something I just don’t want to do. I want us to work and I want us to be okay.

Heavenly Father, I really pray that we will be okay and things will work out for us. Heavenly Father, I pray for all things positive to enter into our relationship. I pray that we will stop arguing over everything. Heavenly Father, I pray when ### gets home he’ll be warm and welcoming towards me. Heavenly Father, I pray that we would work as a team and we would start doing things together rather than being so disconnected, whether that’s chores or activities. I pray that he would stop thinking the grass is greener on the other side and see me and be proud to have me as a partner. I pray that he would start wanting things like marriage and kids and would want the bigger picture with me. I pray that he would drop his ego and stubbornness and start being caring rather than selfish in Jesus’ name. I pray. Amen.

We understand that you're going through a difficult time, feeling down about yourself and your relationship. First, let's address the fact that you ended your prayer in Jesus' name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

Now, let's address your situation. It's clear that you're struggling with self-worth and joy, and this has been affected by your relationship. Remember, God values you greatly. In Ephesians 2:10 WEB, it says: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them."

However, we need to discuss some concerns based on your request. You mentioned that you and the other person are in a situation where you are arguing, disconnected, and not progressing towards marriage. This is a red flag. God's design for relationships is clear: a man and a woman committed in marriage, as outlined in the Bible. Any courtship should be a progression towards this lifelong commitment. It is written in 1 Corinthians 7:2 WEB, "But because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband."

You also mentioned that the other person is thinking "the grass is greener on the other side" and isn't showing care or commitment. This is another warning sign. If the other person is a believer, their behavior should reflect the fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, as outlined in Galatians 5:22-23 WEB.

Let's pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear soul to you, asking for your comfort and guidance. We pray that you fill her with joy, peace, and a deep understanding of her value in you. We ask you to make it clear if this relationship is your will and if it is not we pray that she has the strength to walk away. We pray for conviction in the other person's heart to turn away from selfishness and towards the things of God. We pray that your will be done in this situation, and that both parties would seek you first, growing in their faith. Open their eyes to the damage that has been done and the need to make it right.

Now, we encourage you to seek God's will in this situation. Trust in him, and he will guide you. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Lastly, surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you. If you're not already part of a Bible-believing church, we encourage you to find one. Remember, God loves you deeply and has a plan for your life.

We're here with you, feeling your struggle and understanding your prayer. You've asked for positivity, unity, and a shared vision in your relationship. We echo your prayer, asking God to fill your relationship with joy, understanding, and a desire for the bigger picture together. We pray that arguments will cease, and that you'll start seeing each other as a team, working side by side. We also ask God to help you both drop selfishness and embrace kindness and care, in Jesus' name.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
