We come before the Lord with a heavy yet hopeful heart, lifting up this prayer for relationship restoration. First, we must acknowledge the name of Jesus Christ in this request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His name alone that we pray.
Father God, we thank You for the love that You have placed in this person’s heart for their beloved. We pray that You would indeed restore what has been broken, but we ask that this restoration align with Your perfect will and Your holy Word. Lord, we know that Your desire is for relationships to reflect the love and commitment of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this relationship is to be restored, we pray that it would be built on a foundation of faith in You, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to honor You in all things.
We rebuke any spirit of loneliness or desperation that may lead this person or their beloved to seek refuge in places or relationships that do not honor You. We declare that You are their true refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), and we pray that they would find their ultimate satisfaction in You alone. If there has been any sin, such as fornication, emotional unfaithfulness, or neglect of godly principles, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9). We pray that both individuals would repent of any actions or attitudes that have grieved Your heart and seek to walk in purity and holiness before You.
Lord, we ask that You would soften the heart of this beloved, that she would be open to receiving godly care and that her steps would be guarded by Your hand. We pray that she would not be led astray by worldly influences or the lies of the enemy but would instead be drawn closer to You. If this relationship is to be restored, we ask that it would be a union that brings glory to Your name, where both individuals are committed to serving You together as one flesh (Genesis 2:24).
However, we also surrender this request to Your sovereign will. We know that Your plans for us are good, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). If restoration is not in Your perfect will, we pray that You would grant this person the strength to trust You and to walk in faith, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We pray for wisdom and discernment for this individual as they seek Your face. May they not be led by their emotions alone but by the guidance of Your Holy Spirit. We ask that You would fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and that You would surround them with godly counsel and support.
Father, we also pray for this beloved. If she does not know You as her Lord and Savior, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself. May she come to know the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:19), and may she find her identity and worth in You alone. If she is already a believer, we pray that You would strengthen her faith and help her to walk in obedience to Your Word.
Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this relationship, or against the individuals involved, shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or unforgiveness, and we pray that You would bind up any wounds and heal any brokenness. We ask that You would restore trust, communication, and love, but only in a way that honors You.
Finally, we pray that this person would keep their eyes fixed on You, Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). May they trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). Whether this relationship is restored or not, we pray that they would find their ultimate fulfillment in You and that their lives would be a testimony to Your goodness and grace.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
