We hear your heartache and concern over the distance and silence that has crept into your relationship with . It is painful when communication falters and outside influences threaten what you have built together. We want to lift this situation before the Lord with you, seeking His wisdom, healing, and restoration.

First, let us examine this relationship through the lens of Scripture. The Bible calls us to pursue relationships that honor God, where both individuals are committed to Christ and to one another in a way that reflects His love. In 2 Corinthians 6:14, we are warned, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?" If either of you does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we must first pray for salvation, for it is only through Christ that we can truly love one another as He intends. If you have not both surrendered your lives to Him, we urge you to do so, for apart from Him, relationships will always fall short of God’s perfect design.

If you are both believers, we must also address the nature of your relationship. The Bible is clear that marriage is the only context in which a romantic relationship should exist. In Hebrews 13:4, we read, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." If your relationship has involved physical intimacy outside of marriage, this is sin, and it grieves the heart of God. We must repent of this and commit to purity, allowing God to restore what has been broken. If you are not yet married, we encourage you to pursue this relationship with the intention of marriage, seeking godly counsel and ensuring that your commitment aligns with Scripture.

Now, let us pray for you and :

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this relationship to You. Lord, You see the distance, the silence, and the pain that has entered into it. We ask that You would draw back to this relationship with a heart of honesty and openness. Remove any third parties or influences that are not of You, Lord, and let Your peace reign in their communication. Father, we pray that You would soften both of their hearts to hear one another and to seek Your will above all else.

Lord, if there has been sin in this relationship, whether through impurity, dishonesty, or unforgiveness, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Wash them with the blood of Jesus and restore what has been broken. Help them to walk in repentance and to pursue holiness in their relationship. If marriage is Your will for them, prepare their hearts and guide them toward that commitment. If it is not, give them the strength to let go and trust You with their futures.

Father, we also pray for wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Lord, direct their steps and help them to lean on You rather than their own understanding. Let them seek Your face in this time of uncertainty and trust that You are working all things together for their good.

We rebuke any spirit of division, confusion, or strife that is trying to tear this relationship apart. In the name of Jesus, we command these influences to leave and declare that what God has joined together, no man, or outside force, should separate. Let Your love and Your truth be the foundation of their relationship, Lord.

Finally, we pray for healing. Heal the wounds that have been caused by silence, by distance, and by any ungodly influences. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. And if it is Your will, Lord, restore this relationship in a way that brings glory to Your name.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian couple who can walk alongside you during this time. Surround yourself with believers who will pray for you and hold you accountable. Remember, God’s timing is perfect, and His plans for you are good. Even in the uncertainty, trust that He is working all things together for your good and His glory. Keep your eyes on Him, and let His Word be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path.

We hear the ache in your words, the silence and distance after a year together, and the fear of a breakup, are heavy to carry. Long-distance relationships can magnify every concern, and when communication stalls, it’s easy for our minds to fill the gaps with worst-case scenarios.

One practical step that often helps in moments like this is to slow down and open the door gently. Instead of waiting for things to resolve on their own, you might send a short, honest message, something that doesn’t demand answers but simply lets him know you’re here and want to understand what’s really going on. When you do get to talk, try to focus on listening without assuming the worst, and speak your own feelings without blame. That kind of safe, honest space can sometimes cut through misunderstandings and outside noise in ways arguments never can.

We also know it’s hard to wait and wonder. During this quiet time, lean into the Lord. Tell Him everything, your hopes, the fears you can’t shake, the desire for clarity. He sees the full picture, and you don’t have to sort this out alone.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this relationship to You. You know the pain of these silent days and the pull of whatever or whoever may be interfering. We ask that any third party or influence that is not from You would be removed, and that would find the honesty he needs to speak plainly. Restore their communication, we pray, and give both of them listening hearts. More than anything, hold our friend steady in Your peace, and work Your good will in both their lives, whatever that may look like. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Oh, that you would see your present trial as the Lord’s own hand, breaking what must be broken that you might find healing in Him alone! The heart that leans all its weight upon an earthly affection leans upon a staff of reed, it shall pierce the hand that clutches it. You speak of interferences, of silences that stretch for days, of a pulling away that threatens to snap the bond. Is this not the Lord coming to you as He came to Peter, with a look that breaks the heart in order to mend it truly? The bone that is disjointed must be set, even if the setting brings sharp pain. I would not have you seek first the mending of this human tie, but the mending of your own soul’s trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. For if the wall of your communion with God is broken down, what wonder that every earthly fence lies in ruins?

You ask that any third parties be removed. Consider whether the greatest third party in your heart is not an idol, a poor, perishing man set up in the place that belongs to the Eternal. If you would have the stones rebuilt, you must begin at the Temple, not at the outhouse. Trust Jesus Christ just as you are, without that feeling you have supposed necessary. Cast yourself upon Him, and He will make you whole. The Lord will not share His throne; He will break the columns of our self-made shrines. And when that breaking comes, the bones which He has broken may yet rejoice, if you will but hear His voice saying, “Make you to hear joy and gladness.” O come, by faith, and let your prayer be, “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved.”

I dare not pray that this courtship be restored merely to spare you pain. Would you lean again upon that broken reed? If the man is not given you of God to be a husband in holy covenant, then his pulling away is mercy in disguise. But if it be the Lord’s will, He can turn the heart as rivers of water are turned. Look beyond the creature to the Creator. Are you willing to be saved, willing to have Christ as your all, though He strip every other comfort from you? There is hope for you, for there is One who binds up broken hearts, even hearts broken by their own folly. Go out, as Peter went out, and weep bitterly, and look to Jesus. He has never yet said to a weeping penitent, “Depart from Me.” And when you trust Him, that trust will bring a peace the world can neither give nor take away. The wall shall be rebuilt, the bones shall sing, and you shall know that He is faithful who has promised.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You are in distress over a human affection, but the greatest war is within your own soul. Why are you troubled? The peace that passes understanding comes to those who mind godliness and honesty. Instead of fixing your heart on a man, fix it on the heavenly Bridegroom who never fails.

This long‑distance bond is not yet the lifelong covenant of marriage; while you wait, let your communication be seasoned with the same faith that works by love. Pray not merely that a third party be removed, but that all envy and suspicion be cast out from your own breast. For what does it profit if the world is at peace and you are at war with yourself? Cultivate that inner quietness by giving alms of mercy to those in greater need, and you will see how small these present anxieties appear.

If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you would move the mountain of your fear; but faith is effectual only when joined to a virtuous life. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then, if it be His will, He will order all things for your good. Let your prayer be: “Thy will be done,” not “my desire be granted.” Then, whether this tie stands or breaks, you will stand unshaken, for your foundation is Christ.

The ache of silence is real, and I have brought it before the Lord. But the first relationship at stake is not the one between you and him. It is the relationship between you and God. The Scriptures keep this order: love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and then love another person out of that first love. When the vertical line is right, the horizontal relationships are far more likely to come into balance. When it is out of line, every human relationship feels unstable.

That does not make your pain small. It means you are bringing it to the only God who can reach into both hearts. I do pray that the Lord would remove every third party and every interference that is pulling him away. I pray he would be honest with you and that your communication would become clear and truthful. But I will not ask God to hold together something that requires lies, secrecy, or impurity. I ask Him to bring what is hidden into the light. If this relationship is from Him, let it be restored in truth and purity. If it is not, give you the grace to release it.

Honesty begins before the Lord. None of us can be truly honest with another person until we are honest with Him. Ask God to search both hearts and expose whatever is hidden.

Remember that fruit is the natural consequence of relationship. You cannot make this man stay by worry or effort any more than you can make yourself righteous by striving. Jesus gives a right standing before God, and from that living relationship the right words, patience, and boundaries grow. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father. He did not teach us to come as strangers trying to earn an answer. He wants a close, living relationship with you.

So let this season of silence drive you deeper into prayer, not deeper into panic. If you spend all your energy trying to fix one horizontal relationship, everything else will go out of balance. Bring yourself back to the Lord first. Ask Him to make you whole in Christ before you try to hold together a relationship with another person.

Pray with me. Father, you see the hidden things. You know whether this relationship is from you and whether it is being pulled away by what is false. Remove every third party that should not be there. Give this man an honest heart before you. Give this woman wisdom and peace. Restore what is good, and close what is not. More than anything, bring both of them into a living relationship with you through Jesus Christ. Amen.
