We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage that is precious in His sight. Father, You instituted marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one wife, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church. We pray for restoration in this home, for Your healing touch to mend what has been broken, and for Your wisdom to guide both husband and wife back to Your perfect will.
Scripture tells us in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously." Lord, we know that separation grieves Your heart, and we ask that You would soften this wife’s heart to return to her husband and to You. We rebuke the spirit of division and hardness that has taken hold, and we declare that in Jesus’ name, reconciliation is possible.
We also recognize that when one strays from seeking God, the enemy gains a foothold. First Peter 5:8 warns, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Father, we pray that this wife would be awakened to the schemes of the enemy and turn back to You with all her heart. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her see the consequences of walking away from Your presence, not just in her marriage, but in her work and every area of her life.
To the husband, we say this: Your role as the spiritual leader of your home is vital. Ephesians 5:25 commands, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it." Even in this difficult season, continue to love her sacrificially, pray for her faithfully, and trust God to work. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Seek godly counsel if needed, and let your actions and words reflect Christ’s love, even when she does not respond.
Father, we ask that You would intervene in this marriage. Break down the walls of pride, bitterness, or unforgiveness that may exist on either side. Let humility and grace flow like a river, washing away every hindrance to reconciliation. If there has been sin, whether in words, actions, or neglect, bring it to light so that repentance and healing can begin. We declare that this marriage is not beyond Your restoration, for with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
We pray for peace to flood this home. Let Your presence be so tangible that neither husband nor wife can ignore it. May love, true, selfless, Christlike love, be the foundation upon which this marriage is rebuilt. And may both husband and wife grow closer to You through this trial, emerging stronger in faith and more united in purpose.
Lord, we also lift up this wife’s struggles at work. You are the God who provides and sustains. Give her favor with her employers and coworkers, and let her find strength in You alone. Remind her that her identity is not found in her job, her circumstances, or even her marriage, but in You. Draw her back to Your Word, to prayer, and to the fellowship of believers who can encourage her in her walk with You.
Finally, we rebuke any spirit of rebellion, independence, or deception that has taken root in this situation. We declare that this wife is not her own, she was bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and that she belongs to You, Lord. We speak life over her, over her marriage, and over this family. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this restoration.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
