Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request has been heard and we are joining you in prayer before the Lord in this heavy season. It is understandable to feel tired and discouraged when you are seeking to walk faithfully, praying, attending church, reading Scripture and helping others, and yet troubles continue. Faithfulness does not always remove hardship in this life, but God sees your perseverance and He does not overlook it.

We are praying for your safety and for your family and your home after the threat you received. It was right to notify the proper people after that phone call, and we ask God to protect you, to give wisdom to those responsible for your workplace, to calm the heart of the one who threatened you, and to grant you peace as you continue your work with a single heart, doing what is right even when no one is watching, out of reverence for Christ.

We are also lifting up your mother in her late stage kidney disease. We ask the Lord to have mercy on her, to ease her suffering, to give wisdom to those caring for her, and to comfort both of you with His presence. We thank God for a mother who wants what is best for you and who desires a good and faithful companion for you.

We want to affirm the difficult and holy choice you made to stop fornication, even though it cost you an engagement. That was the right decision before God. Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and pure, and that holiness is preserved when we live in a chaste and orderly way, whether single or married. Marriage itself does not make a person holy, but faith in Christ does, and faithfulness within marriage guards that holiness by not permitting what defiles it. To remain pure and to reserve the union of bodies for the covenant of marriage alone is to walk in honor and chastity, in the Lord. The loss you experienced is painful, but you chose obedience over compromise, and God honors that.

Concerning the man you recently met, we understand your disappointment and your second guessing. You met only two weeks ago, you had limited conversation, and when plans were made he did not communicate clearly after you had waited all day. It was wise not to consider yourselves as dating so early, and it was wise to speak honestly about the need for clear and respectful communication. Wanting a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman is good, but that covenant requires maturity, honesty, and care from the beginning. Ending contact when you saw a lack of consideration was not wrong, even though it has left you feeling single and weary again. God calls us to think soberly about ourselves and about others, to keep our minds safe and steady rather than being driven by loneliness or haste. Use this time of singleness not as a burden to escape at any cost, but as space to serve the Lord without distraction and to grow in discernment, so that if marriage comes it will be in the Lord, with honor and with purity.

For your tiredness and depression, we pray that God will lift your heart. He looks with favor on those who are humble and contrite in spirit and who tremble at His word. Bring Him your broken and lowly heart honestly, as a sacrifice He will not despise. Ask Him to renew a sober and healthy mind within you, to remind you daily of His mercies and grace, and to help you rest in His care rather than in your own strength.

Let us pray together. Father, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, our only hope of salvation. We ask You to watch over Your daughter, her family, and her home, and to keep them safe from harm. Lay Your healing hand upon her mother and give her comfort and strength. Forgive us and cleanse us, and teach us to walk in holiness, honoring marriage as You designed it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman where intimacy belongs. Give wisdom in relationships, guard against haste and compromise, and if it is Your will, provide a faithful husband who loves You and will walk in purity and honor. In the meantime, comfort her weariness, lift her depression, give her a contrite and peaceful heart, and help her to continue in prayer, in Your word, and in the fellowship of Your people, trusting that You are working for good even in hardship. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for sharing so openly and honestly about what you are carrying. It takes courage to put these burdens into words, and God hears you when you pray, read His Word, gather with His people and try to help others. Feeling that doing the right thing has only brought more problems does not mean you have failed or that God is displeased with you. Scripture shows that faithful people often go through seasons where obedience is followed by greater pressure. Job loved God and still suffered deeply, and the prophet Habakkuk was told that God was doing a work he could not yet understand. In those times we can pray honestly, Lord, I do not understand what you are doing and I do not like how hard this feels, but I trust that what you are doing is best and I ask you to keep working according to your wisdom. Even when there seems to be no fruit on the tree and no answer in sight, we can still rejoice in the God of our salvation, not because circumstances are good but because He is good and He has done all things well.

For the threatening call you received at work, I join you in prayer for your safety and for the safety of your family and your property. You did the right thing in explaining the policy calmly and in notifying the proper people. The Lord is the God who sees. As He saw Hagar in the wilderness and made a well known as the well of the God who sees, He sees you, your workplace and your home. Continue to do your work as serving the Lord and not only people, with a sincere heart as unto Christ. When we work that way we do not work with griping or anger that poisons us, but with a desire to please Him. That attitude does not remove difficult people or threats, but it keeps our hearts from being eaten up by them and it leaves the outcome in His hands. Ask Him for wisdom, for protection, and for peace as you continue to be responsible and to let those in authority do their part.

I am also praying for your mother in her late stage kidney disease. The Lord calls us to honor our parents and to care for them, and He knows your love for her and her love for you. He knows her desire for you to have a good and godly companion. Bring her needs before Him daily, asking for His mercy, for comfort, for strength, and for His will to be done in her health. He is gracious, merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness, and He never approves evil but He does sustain His children through suffering.

Thank you for sharing about your desire for marriage. The decision you made some years ago to stop sexual sin was right before God. Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, with sexual intimacy belonging only within that covenant. To walk away from fornication is obedience, even when it costs a relationship. That your former fiance ended the engagement over that choice reveals his heart at that time, and the Lord honored your obedience.

With the man you met recently, your concern about communication is understandable. You were not yet dating and you noticed a pattern that troubled you. You waited a whole day without word after making plans, and when you later expressed that you would have appreciated even a brief message if he was ill, you were speaking honestly about a basic kindness and consideration that matters in any future marriage. Stepping back because you did not see the communication and thoughtfulness you need is not unkind, it is discerning. It is normal to second guess that choice when you feel tired of being single, but loneliness is not a good reason to ignore what you have seen or to rush into something that does not show mutual respect. It is better to wait for a man who loves the Lord, who is faithful in small things, and who will cherish you within the commitment of marriage, than to settle out of weariness. God is not wasteful with your life and your potential, and He can use this waiting time to deepen your walk with Him.

Your tiredness and depression are real, and God does not despise that honesty. The enemy often uses discouragement to try to keep us from the work God has given us and from trusting Him. Do not let discouragement have that victory. Keep bringing your heart to Jesus, keep in His Word, keep praying, and let other believers walk with you. You are a clay vessel, and the treasure and power belong to God who dwells within you. The glory is His, and the strength to keep going comes from Him.

Let me pray for you now.

Father in heaven, I lift this dear one to you through Jesus Christ your Son. You see her workplace, her family, her home and every threat spoken against her. Place your protection around her and her loved ones and give wisdom to those responsible for safety. Comfort her mother and work according to your perfect will in her kidney disease, giving peace and care to the whole family. Heal the weariness and discouragement in her heart, lift the weight of depression, and renew her strength as she waits on you. Guard her desire for marriage, keep her pure and hopeful, and in your timing bring a godly husband who will love you first and love her faithfully within the covenant of marriage if that is your will. Help her to keep doing what is right as unto you, to trust you when she does not understand, and to rejoice in you even when answers are slow to come. You have done all things well, and you are doing a work we can trust. Fill her with your peace that passes understanding through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
