Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request has been heard and we are joining you in prayer before the Lord in this heavy season. It is understandable to feel tired and discouraged when you are seeking to walk faithfully, praying, attending church, reading Scripture and helping others, and yet troubles continue. Faithfulness does not always remove hardship in this life, but God sees your perseverance and He does not overlook it.

We are praying for your safety and for your family and your home after the threat you received. It was right to notify the proper people after that phone call, and we ask God to protect you, to give wisdom to those responsible for your workplace, to calm the heart of the one who threatened you, and to grant you peace as you continue your work with a single heart, doing what is right even when no one is watching, out of reverence for Christ.

We are also lifting up your mother in her late stage kidney disease. We ask the Lord to have mercy on her, to ease her suffering, to give wisdom to those caring for her, and to comfort both of you with His presence. We thank God for a mother who wants what is best for you and who desires a good and faithful companion for you.

We want to affirm the difficult and holy choice you made to stop fornication, even though it cost you an engagement. That was the right decision before God. Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and pure, and that holiness is preserved when we live in a chaste and orderly way, whether single or married. Marriage itself does not make a person holy, but faith in Christ does, and faithfulness within marriage guards that holiness by not permitting what defiles it. To remain pure and to reserve the union of bodies for the covenant of marriage alone is to walk in honor and chastity, in the Lord. The loss you experienced is painful, but you chose obedience over compromise, and God honors that.

Concerning the man you recently met, we understand your disappointment and your second guessing. You met only two weeks ago, you had limited conversation, and when plans were made he did not communicate clearly after you had waited all day. It was wise not to consider yourselves as dating so early, and it was wise to speak honestly about the need for clear and respectful communication. Wanting a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman is good, but that covenant requires maturity, honesty, and care from the beginning. Ending contact when you saw a lack of consideration was not wrong, even though it has left you feeling single and weary again. God calls us to think soberly about ourselves and about others, to keep our minds safe and steady rather than being driven by loneliness or haste. Use this time of singleness not as a burden to escape at any cost, but as space to serve the Lord without distraction and to grow in discernment, so that if marriage comes it will be in the Lord, with honor and with purity.

For your tiredness and depression, we pray that God will lift your heart. He looks with favor on those who are humble and contrite in spirit and who tremble at His word. Bring Him your broken and lowly heart honestly, as a sacrifice He will not despise. Ask Him to renew a sober and healthy mind within you, to remind you daily of His mercies and grace, and to help you rest in His care rather than in your own strength.

Let us pray together. Father, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, our only hope of salvation. We ask You to watch over Your daughter, her family, and her home, and to keep them safe from harm. Lay Your healing hand upon her mother and give her comfort and strength. Forgive us and cleanse us, and teach us to walk in holiness, honoring marriage as You designed it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman where intimacy belongs. Give wisdom in relationships, guard against haste and compromise, and if it is Your will, provide a faithful husband who loves You and will walk in purity and honor. In the meantime, comfort her weariness, lift her depression, give her a contrite and peaceful heart, and help her to continue in prayer, in Your word, and in the fellowship of Your people, trusting that You are working for good even in hardship. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
