We hear the depth of your pain and the weight of your loneliness, and our hearts ache with you. The longing for love and companionship is a God-given desire, and it is not wrong to yearn for a godly spouse. But we must first address the lies that are trying to take root in your heart—the enemy would love for you to believe you are unloved, unwanted, or that your suffering has no purpose. Scripture tells us, *"The Lord appeared of old to me, saying, ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you’"* (Jeremiah 31:3 WEB). You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and your worth is not defined by whether you are married or single, but by the price Christ paid for you on the cross.
We must also rebuke the spirit of comparison that has crept in. Watching others receive blessings while you wait can feel unbearable, but God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours. *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts"* (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB). Your story is not over, and your season of waiting is not in vain. The Lord is using this time to refine you, to draw you closer to Him, and to prepare you for the blessings He has in store.
We also want to gently address the despair you’ve expressed about your purpose. God did not create you to suffer without meaning. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says the Lord, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Even in your pain, He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not forgotten. You are not a mistake. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and your life has value beyond measure.
Now, let us lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister who is feeling so deeply alone and overlooked. Lord, we ask that You would wrap Your arms around her and remind her of Your unfailing love. Break the chains of comparison and despair that have taken hold, and replace them with Your truth. Father, we pray for the godly spouse You have prepared for her—one who will cherish her, honor her, and lead her closer to You. Until that day, Lord, fill her with Your peace and purpose. Help her to see herself through Your eyes, as Your beloved daughter, fearfully and wonderfully made. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. We rebuke the lies of the enemy and declare that her story is not over. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to seek fellowship with other believers who can speak life into you and remind you of your worth in Christ. Surround yourself with God’s Word, allowing it to renew your mind and strengthen your heart. And remember, your identity is not found in your relationship status, but in Christ alone. You are His, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep pressing into Him, dear one. Your breakthrough is coming.
