Ps. 91, gratitude, deliverance, rest, peace, rebuke the evil

Heavenly Father thank you for blessing us all with another day. I pray again for freedom and deliverance from evil attacks. I rebuke this evil and demand it leaves in Jesus holy name. Amen

I pray Psalm 91 today Father:


“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.””

We join you today with grateful hearts and we thank God with you for the gift of another day and for His constant mercy. We praise Him for you and for your desire to dwell in His shelter and to seek His deliverance and peace. Your prayer to rebuke evil in the holy name of Jesus is good and biblical, and we stand in agreement with you against every attack of the enemy.

We love that you are praying Psalm 91 over your life, for it is a powerful promise of God's protection for those who abide in Him. As it is written, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. And again, For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11. When we make the Most High our dwelling, we can rest in His shadow and not fear the terror by night or the arrow that flies by day, because His faithfulness is our shield and rampart.

We also stand with you to rebuke the evil that has been attacking you. Scripture teaches us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil Ephesians 6:12, and we are called to put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11. We agree with you that in the name of Jesus Christ, the enemy must flee, for it is written, Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. We declare with you that the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3.

We pray together for the rest and peace you are seeking, knowing that true rest is found only in Christ. Jesus says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. And we pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness and for blessing us with another day of life. We thank You that You are our refuge and our fortress, our God in whom we trust. We lift up this dear one to You and we ask for complete freedom and deliverance from every evil attack, oppression, and scheme of the enemy. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ we rebuke every evil influence and command it to leave and go where You send it, Lord, never to return. We ask You to cover this life with Your feathers and let them find refuge under Your wings. Command Your angels concerning them to guard them in all their ways. Fill their home and heart with Your perfect peace and deep rest. Remove all fear, anxiety, and torment, and let Your presence bring stillness and comfort through the night and day. Help them to continue to dwell in Your secret place and to abide in You daily through prayer and Your Word. We thank You that because they love You and acknowledge Your name, You will rescue them, answer them, be with them in trouble, deliver them and honor them. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, Amen.

We are grateful you shared this prayer with us. We hear in your words both gratitude and a deep desire to be free from what has been attacking and tormenting you. Gratitude itself is a quiet strength. When we pause to notice and thank God for what He has given, it calms our hearts and reminds us we are not alone and not forgotten. And the rest you are asking for is part of that wholeness God desires for you, rest for your thoughts, your body and your spirit as you stay near Him through the day.

It can help to keep this same simple rhythm you have begun, speaking your thanks and praying Psalm 91 aloud morning and evening and letting that be the frame for your day, rather than chasing a single dramatic moment of relief. God meets us as we walk with Him step by step.

We pray for you now. Father, we thank You for this day and for Your faithful care. We ask You to guard our friend, to quiet fear and bring deep rest and peace, to break every evil attack and draw them closer into Your shelter. It is a good and comely thing that you begin the day with thanksgiving, for every breath is a mercy and every morning a fresh gift from the hand of the Lord. To bless Him for another day and to look to Him for deliverance is the very posture of one who dwells in the shelter of the Most High and would rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

That Psalm which you have prayed is full to the very brim of exceedingly great and precious promises. Observe how it speaks not of a passing visit, but of dwelling and abiding. He that would know its rest and peace must make the Most High his habitation, not his occasional resort. There he finds what the Psalm so sweetly calls the covering of His feathers, and under His wings he trusts. What condescending words are these, that the great God should liken Himself to a bird sheltering its young, that His faithfulness should be our shield and rampart. Not only is protection from danger vouchsafed, but a sense of comfort and home is communicated, so that the child of God feels himself at home under the shadow of the Almighty.

You pray for deliverance from evil attacks and you do well to rebuke that evil in the holy name of Jesus. Remember that our safety lies not in our own strength of rebuke, but in Him who has trampled the lion and the cobra under His feet. The promise is, because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him. He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways, and you shall tread upon the young lion and the dragon. If you keep in the appointed way, the way of separation from the world and close walking with God, you may depend upon it that you will be protected by His sovereign power. Keep back from the beginnings of evil, and He will keep you from the perils both of the stony road and of the smooth and easy road.

And there is yet another pearl in this Psalm for you who seek rest and peace. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. Though the promise is sure, we are to bring it in our hands and lay it before the throne and plead His faithfulness. Prayer is essential. You have called and He hears. To see your need and to see Christ as your refuge will bring you to your knees, and there you find that He is indeed your fortress, your God in whom you trust.

So we join our prayer with yours. Heavenly Father, we thank You for this day which Your mercy has added. We thank You for Your faithfulness which has been a shield. We ask You to cover this Your child with Your feathers, to give rest under Your wings, to grant that peace which passes understanding. In the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, by whose blood alone we are sheltered, we ask You to rebuke and drive far from Your child every assault of the evil one, to command Your guard about their dwelling, to be with them in trouble and to deliver them. Let them know more of that rest which is not idleness but a conscious grasp of Christ, contentment with Him as all in all. Keep them in Your holy way till at last they shall see Your face with joy and live with You forever. Amen.
