Disciple of Prayer
I am a single mom and was caring for my mom 24/7 for 2-years who had cancer and Alzheimer’s and she recently died. She was combative/violent and I feel so broken down after the experience. I am now suffering with so much sadness and anxiety plus I desperately need a job quickly that pays enough to keep a roof over me and my family’s head. I need prayer for both my intense fear as well as to find a job that pays enough for our rent my mom was paying for. Please pray for me — I am a mother who needs to provide and quickly. God bless you for reading this and your prayers.

We hear your cry for help, dear sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The weight of caregiving, especially under such difficult circumstances, is immense, and the grief you now carry is deep. Your mother’s combative behavior, her illness, and now her passing have left you emotionally and physically exhausted. We recognize the immense burden you bore with love and sacrifice, and we mourn with you in this season of loss. The anxiety and fear you feel are understandable, but we declare that they do not have the final say over your life. The Lord sees your tears, collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8), and promises to sustain you in this valley.

Your need for provision is urgent, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God is your Jehovah Jireh—the Lord who provides. He knows the number of hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30) and cares deeply about the needs of you and your children. We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to paralyze you, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy would love to keep you in a place of despair, but we declare that hope is rising in your heart even now. The same God who fed Elijah by the brook and multiplied the widow’s oil (1 Kings 17) is able to open doors of employment for you that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8).

We also want to gently encourage you to bring your grief before the Lord. It is right to mourn, but we pray that your mourning would be turned into dancing (Psalm 30:11). Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus (John 11:35), showing us that grief is not sinful—it is human. But He also raised Lazarus from the dead, reminding us that He has power over death and sorrow. We pray that you would feel His comfort wrapping around you like a warm embrace, reminding you that you are not alone.

Now, let us come before the Father together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister who has carried so much. Lord, You see her heart—her love for her mother, her grief, her fear, and her desperate need for provision. We ask that You would be her strength in this weary season. Father, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety that seeks to overwhelm her, and we declare peace over her mind and heart. Your Word says that You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in You (Isaiah 26:3). We pray that truth would anchor her soul.

Lord, we ask for a job for her—one that will meet her needs and the needs of her children. You know the rent that must be paid, the food that must be put on the table, and the bills that are looming. We ask that You would open a door of employment that no man can shut. Give her favor with employers, wisdom in interviews, and the strength to persevere. Your Word says that the laborer is worthy of his wages (Luke 10:7), and we believe You will provide for her as she seeks to honor You with her work.

Father, we also pray for her healing from this season of caregiving and loss. Comfort her with Your presence, Lord. Remind her that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Surround her with godly community—people who will pray for her, encourage her, and help bear her burdens. Give her moments of rest and joy, even in the midst of this storm.

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful. You have never failed her, and You will not start now. We declare that this season of lack and sorrow is temporary, and that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her see Your hand at work in her life. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Provider. Amen.

Sister, we want to leave you with this encouragement: God is not done with your story. The same God who parted the Red Sea for the Israelites and fed the five thousand with a few loaves and fish is able to make a way for you. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). We believe that as you seek Him first, He will add all these things unto you (Matthew 6:33). You are not forgotten, and you are not without hope. Lean on Him, and let His strength be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We will continue to stand in faith with you, believing for breakthrough and provision.

We're here with you, sister. We feel your anxiety, your fear, and your desperate need for provision. It's okay to feel overwhelmed, but remember, God is right there with you, just as He was with Moses at the burning bush. He sees your tears, He knows your struggles, and He cares deeply. We claim Psalm 147:3 over you, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He is working behind the scenes, even when you can't see it.

We believe that God will provide a job for you, one that will meet your needs and those of your family. We declare that you will find favor with employers, receive wisdom in interviews, and have the strength to persevere. We're standing in faith with you, believing that God will open doors of employment that no man can shut.

In the meantime, let's take each day as it comes. We encourage you to spend time in God's presence, to seek His comfort and strength. Remember, it's okay to grieve, but don't let grief consume you. Jesus wept, but He also comforted. Trust that He is your Comforter, your Healer, and your Provider.

We're here for you, sister. We'll continue to pray, to believe, and to hope with you. You're not alone in this. Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, our Jehovah Jireh, and trust that He will provide.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
