Proverbs, Chapter 15

15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath; But a grievous word stirs up anger.

15:2 The tongue of the wise utters knowledge aright; But the mouth of fools gushes out folly.

15:3 The eyes of Yahweh are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.

15:4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life; But perverseness in it is a breaking of the spirit.

15:5 A fool despises his father's correction; But he who regards reproof gets prudence.

15:6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure; But in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

15:7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge; But the heart of the foolish is not so.

15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is disgusting to Yahweh; But the prayer of the upright is his delight.

15:9 The way of the wicked is disgusting to Yahweh; But he loves him who follows after righteousness.

15:10 There is grievous correction for him who forsakes the way; [And] he who hates reproof will die.

15:11 Sheol and Abaddon are before Yahweh: How much more then the hearts of the sons of man!

15:12 A scoffer does not love to be reproved; He will not go to the wise.

15:13 A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance; But by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.

15:14 The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge; But the mouth of fools feeds on folly.

15:15 All the days of the afflicted are evil; But he who is of a cheerful heart [has] a continual feast.

15:16 Better is little, with the fear of Yahweh, Than great treasure and turmoil with it.

15:17 Better is a dinner of herbs, where there is love, Than a stalled ox and hatred with it.

15:18 A wrathful man stirs up contention; But he who is slow to anger appeases strife.

15:19 The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns; But the path of the upright is made a highway.

15:20 A wise son makes a glad father; But [a] foolish man despises his mother.

15:21 Folly is joy to him who is void of wisdom; But a man of understanding makes straight his going.

15:22 Where there is no counsel, purposes are disappointed; But in the multitude of counselors they are established.

15:23 A man has joy in the answer of his mouth; And a word in due season, how good it is!

15:24 To the wise the way of life [goes] upward, That he may depart from Sheol beneath.

15:25 Yahweh will root up the house of the proud; But he will establish the border of the widow.

15:26 Evil devices are disgusting to Yahweh; But pleasant words [are] pure.

15:27 He who is greedy of gain troubles his own house; But he who hates bribes will live.

15:28 The heart of the righteous studies to answer; But the mouth of the wicked gushes out evil things.

15:29 Yahweh is far from the wicked; But he hears the prayer of the righteous.

15:30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart; [And] good news make the bones fat.

15:31 The ear that harkens to the reproof of life Will reside among the wise.

15:32 He who refuses correction despises his own soul; But he who harkens to reproof gets understanding.

15:33 The fear of Yahweh is the instruction of wisdom; And before honor [goes] humility.

Thank you so very much for sharing Father's heavenly food! His words are seeds to our soiled hearts... which thirst His richness everyday no matter our circumstances. Father always has the perfect and the exact seed to plant in our hearts!

Thank you Precious Heavenly Father for loving us in so many different ways.

Even though we will never be perfect in this life, we can be victorious in the battle to save souls for eternity. Jesus said to all of us. Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel... I am with you always even to the end of the world. It is God's passionate desire to save us from all harm and all danger. He wants all His dear children happy and joyful in His holy presence. He wants to transform our hearts and souls only if we let Him. Oh God, be near to me when I am in distress. Whenever I am lost and confused. Be my guide and deliverer. I want to reflect the beauty, the love and the mercy of Jesus in my life. That others who see me will say... This one is a truly servant and a child of the living God. May the holiness of Jesus be down deep in my heart. To glorify and honor your holy name. As soft answer turns away wrath. 15.1 May my mouth be used to bless and never to curse. To tell others about the miracle that happened in mine heart and to glorify your name wherever I go and whatever I do. In Jesus name. Amen

  1. It is so true that a soft answer (or voice) turns away wrath...(or anger) it seems to have a calming affect on most people and animals too. A soft voice is a little hard to get angry with.....a soft answer or kind tone makes it difficult to be angry or stay angry....I love Proverbs

thankyou for this discussion im going through a terrible and frustrating time with my ### yr old daughter and at times i know now that i have said the wrong things to her in thinking i was doing the right thing, but now after this disscussion i realise iv dealt with it all wrong and have no doubt provoked the situation, i really needed to hear this, i just want my daughter's life back on track as she is fast spiralling out of control and i feel helpless but i just feel now that i needed this from Jesus and that everything is in his hands. thankyou Amen.

I can not think about the Exodus when Moses told His people.. who is on the Lord's side? Come to me. We must decide whom we will serve. To money, to material possessions, to prestige and popularity? Are those things eternal? Would all of these things will make us happy and secure after we die? 15.16 Better is little, with fear of Yahweh. Than great treasure and turmoil in it. How true this verse it is. Lots of people got everything on this earth. Mansions everywhere, late model cars and trucks, boats and everything they do not need. They got it. But are they happy? Would they bow down and pray for others knowing that they have no need of anything in this world? Well, I do not think so. God sends poverty and distress to His people to try them if they will trust Him above everything else. Let us be thankful to God for the blessing He sends our way. Also, we should thank God for the lack of employment and food so we will depend on Him and trust Him more to supply our needs. The feeding of the five thousand people tells us to trust in His loving kindness and tender mercies. What a wonderful example in the life of Jesus we have.

We see younger and more able men and women do extraordinary things that we cannot do. Specially at our old age we are not able to walk straight and pain all over the body starts coming up. We pop up pills like candy and we cannot get rid of the pain at all. It is so easy to feel useless when we cannot do things that we used to do when we were young. But our minds never grow old. Our spirit continue to renew itself when we are closer to Jesus. It is in Him we live and die. Love this verse in Psalm 92:14 They shall still bear fruit in old age, they shall be fresh and flourishing. Never give up. Never feel sorry for yourself. Our home in heaven is waiting. God, our heavenly Father is giving us the best of our years here on earth and He has a plan for everyone. Children, young people, middle age and older citizens have a place in God's kingdom. You can work where God sends you and be a blessing to all who surround you. Prov. 15:17 Better is a dinner of herbs, where there is love. If you show love to those who live with you and those who care about you, God will be so pleased and will bless your life and those who live with you. Thank you Jesus for loving us and dying on the cross for my sins. Help me to be a blessing to all who I see. At church, with my neighbors and those who I love most. In Jesus name. Amen

Lord Jesus we need your direction and guidance on what to choose in the music department. As this wonderful verse says... One thing I have asked of the Lord and this one I shall seek that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple. Psalm 27:4 I want to be closer to the heart of Jesus hearing music from heaven and to worship and adore His holy name. Prov. 15:4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life. Make my tongue to be a blessing to millions and use my mouth to glorify your holy name. May my life be a tree of life that gives hope to those who surround me. This is my desire today and forever more. Amen
