Proverbs, Chapter 13

13:1 A wise son [hears] his father's instruction; But a scoffer does not hear rebuke.

13:2 A man will eat good by the fruit of his mouth; But the soul of betrayers [will eat] violence.

13:3 He who guards his mouth keeps his life; [but] he who opens his lips wide will have destruction.

13:4 The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent will be made fat.

13:5 A righteous man hates lying; But a wicked man is loathsome, and comes to shame.

13:6 Righteousness guards him who is upright in the way; But wickedness overthrows the sinner.

13:7 There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing: There is one who makes himself poor, yet has great wealth.

13:8 The ransom of a man's life is his riches; But the poor hears no threatening.

13:9 The light of the righteous rejoices; But the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

13:10 By pride comes only contention; But with the well-advised is wisdom.

13:11 Wealth gotten by vanity will be diminished; But he who gathers by labor will have increase.

13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick; But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

13:13 Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself; But he who fears the commandment will be rewarded.

13:14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, That one may avoid the snares of death.

13:15 Good understanding gives favor; But the way of betrayers is hard.

13:16 Every prudent man works with knowledge; But a fool flaunts [his] folly.

13:17 A wicked messenger will fall into evil; But a faithful ambassador is health.

13:18 Poverty and shame [will be to] him who refuses correction; But he who regards reproof will be honored.

13:19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul; But it is disgusting to fools to depart from evil.

13:20 Walk with wise men, and you will be wise; But the friend of fools will smart for it.

13:21 Evil pursues sinners; But the righteous will be recompensed with good.

13:22 A good man leaves an inheritance to the sons of his sons; And the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous.

13:23 Much food [is in] the tillage of the poor; But there is that which is destroyed by reason of injustice.

13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son; But he who loves him chastens him diligently.

13:25 The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul; But the belly of the wicked will want.

Whoever despises the Word brings destruction to himself.  Proverbs 13.13  Never ever despise the word of God. It is eternally written down for all of us to obey, to trust, to lean upon and to live by its teachings.  If we follow and obey every single day of our lives we will have the blessings of the Lord Jesus and He will become our best friend, protector and guide. After all our lives are very short.  Old age, over the hill and senior citizens we will become sooner or later.  Let us lift our hearts towards God and rejoice in Him. He is our life. He is the sustainer of our being.  Blessed be His name. For ever and ever. Amen

Paul the apostle went through a rough time. Imprisonment, arrests of all kinds, rejection by his own people and loneliness. Are we going through the same thing today? Well, if we are.. then let us do what the apostle Paul did. He prayed, he praise the Lord Jesus with songs. Look at him. Imprisoned and singing songs of praise to God in middle of the prison cell. An earquake delivered him from his chains. An oportunity arose to save a soul of the prison guard. He said. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be save and all your family. The prison guard did exactly that and he was delivered from the chains of darkness from this world and now he was heading up to heaven. Every prudent man works with knowledge. Prov. 13.16a Paul had knowledge of the eternal purpose of God and He used this knowledge to save a soul that was going to hell unless someone told him the truth. Aredoing the samething today? Did you tell anyone about Jesus lately???

A faithful ambassador is health. Prov. 13.17b Each Christian should be a faithful ambassadors for Jesus. We are the open bible to those we meet on the street and also inside the church we should be a blessing to others. So when they see us coming in they will glorify God because our lives are true testimony of what God has done in our lives. Let your life be a blessing and never ever a curse to anyone. Jesus loves a faithful servant who wants to be a channel of blessings through them.

Our Lord Jesus shattered the world by starting the plan of salvation for all humanity. There was no man like Him and will never be One just like Jesus of Nazareth. People keep writing about His life and times and will never end writing poems, plays, poety, films and more worship songs and books about Him. He started history itself. AD BC this are the two instances where He was touched by history and all historical books to be written will not tell the whole truth because Jesus is the eternal God who made us all in His own image. Blessed be His holy name. Prov. 13.1a A wise son hears his fathers instruction. Yes Jesus, we want to hear your instructions. We want to obey your word. We want to be all you want us to be. A holy people chosen from the beginning and heading towards heaven where we will reign with Yor for ever and ever. Amen

Is peace missing in your life?  Do you long for peace coming to your own home where the kids are getting on your nerves all the time?  Do you want peace to settle down deep in your soul?  Well, I have good news from Jesus. My peace I give unto you. NOt as the world giveth you. I give it unto you.  Our blessed saviour wants each one of us to be at peace with our own selves and with others. Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.  If we want peace to reing in our hearts then we should be peacemakers.  Blessed are the peacemakers for they shalll see God. Evil purses sinners.  But the righteous will be recompensed with good.  Prov. 13.21   Let us all pray for sinners to repent from their sins so evil will not pursue them and the devil will be cast out through the power of the Holy Spirit.  But the righteous shall inherit the earth.

He, Jesus, is the image of the invisible God. The first born over all creation. For by Him all things were created, things on heaven and in earth. Visible and invisible. Colo. 1.15a   There is only on way of remission of our sins it is through the blood of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ who came to the world two thousand years ago. There is no other way man can attain salvation. Crown Him with many crowns. Awake my soul and sing to Him who died for thee. through all eternity. Prov. 13.16a  Every prudent man works with knowledge. We should draw closer to God so our work will be blessed by Him and whatever we do in word or deed it will be to the glory of God our Father. In whom there rests the joy of our lives for ever and ever. Amen

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessings in the heavenly places. Ephe. 1,3   Let us all start a new week and new day blessing God our Father who have given us His Son Jesus to save us all from all kinds of sins that we have committed.  Pray that we will be a witness to all we come in contact with.  At home, at work, in the street and volunteer at the local feeding center in our city.  Proverbs 13.16  Every prudent man works with knowledge.  Ask Jesus to give you wisdom to answer those who mock at Jesus and may our witness be true and honest.  Jesus, give us this day our daily bread.  Your word is our most important bread so we can share with others what you have taught us.  Blessed be Your holy name now and forever and ever. Amen
