Proverbs, Chapter 1

1:1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:

1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; To discern the words of understanding;

1:3 To receive instruction in wise dealing, In righteousness and justice and equity;

1:4 To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion:

1:5 That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; And that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsels:

1:6 To understand a proverb, and a figure, The words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

1:7 The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; [but] the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

1:8 My son, hear the instruction of your father, And don't forsake the law of your mother:

1:9 For they will be a chaplet of grace to your head, And chains about your neck.

1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.

1:11 If they say, Come with us, Let us lay in wait for blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;

1:12 Let us swallow them up alive as Sheol, And whole, as those who go down into the pit;

1:13 We will find all precious substance; We will fill our houses with spoil;

1:14 You will cast your lot among us; We will all have one bag:

1:15 My son, don't walk in the way with them; Refrain your foot from their path:

1:17 For in vain is the net spread In the sight of any bird:

1:18 And these lay wait for their own blood; They lurk secretly for their own lives.

1:19 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy of gain; It takes away the life of its owners.

1:20 Wisdom cries aloud in the street; She utters her voice in the broad places;

1:21 She cries in the most noisy places; At the entrance of the gates, In the city, she utters her words:

1:22 How long, you+ simple ones, will you+ love simplicity? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing, And fools hate knowledge?

1:23 Turn+ at my reproof: Look, I will cause my spirit to gush out on you+ I will make my words known to you+.

1:24 Because I have called, and you+ have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man has regarded;

1:25 But you+ have set at nothing all my counsel, And would have none of my reproof:

1:26 I also will laugh in [the day of] your+ calamity; I will mock when your+ fear comes;

1:27 When your+ fear comes as a storm, And your+ calamity comes on as a whirlwind; When distress and anguish come upon you+.

1:28 Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me:

1:29 For they hated knowledge, And did not choose the fear of Yahweh:

1:30 They didn't want my counsel; They despised all my reproof.

1:31 Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own devices.

1:32 For the backsliding of the simple will slay them, And the careless ease of fools will destroy them.

1:33 But whoever harkens to me will stay securely, And will be quiet without fear of evil.

For they heated knowledge. And did not choose the fear of Yahweh. 1.29 We see people desperate to find peace, joy, the meaning of life itself. They hate knowledge of God's word and do not fear Jesus at all. We need to pray for them. Fast for the salvation of their souls and bring them all to church to hear God's word. Jesus loves them and wants to change their lives.

To receive instruction in wise dealing. Prov. 1.3a Only God can give us all wisdom how we can lose weight with God's help. Many are the ones who suffer because of overweight problems. We ask Jesus to give us all wisdom and follow what God wants us to do for His glory and honor. Amen

They do not want my counsel. They despised all my reproof. Prov. 1.30 This is the modern movement we are living today. People do no want the counsel of the Lord Jesus. They refuse to hear it and disobey whatever God says in His word. Disdaining all God's reproof and going the way of evil. All Christians must stop and pray and fast for souls that are going to hell and no one seems to help them. This is also the signs of the times. When the fig tree starts to bloom. Jesus is at the door and we must be ready to go up to heaven to be with Jesus forever and ever. Amen

I am listening to God today. His word is speaking to me. My son, are sinners entice you. Do not consent. Prov. 1.10 Jesus wants the best for our lives. He cares, He loves us with an everlasting love. We must hear Him speak down deep on our souls and obey what He says. Blessed Lord, open our eyes, our ears and our hearts to hear your voice today. Amen

A lot of people are so into living for the day that they are not following God's words. His words are for our well-being now and later. I plan to go to heaven and right now I am spreading the word of God to people letting them know Pick up your Bible and read!!! His instructions are right there. Do it before it is too late. My children will grow in the word of God. I grow every day.

Have a blessed November month where Thanksgiving to God comes along and then Christmas on December. Ask Jesus to bless us and keep us under His eternal arms of peace and joy in our hearts and minds. To receive instruction in wise dealing. In righteousness and justice and equity. Prov. 1:3 Only God can give the wisdom that comes from above. He is the giver of all good gifts to all His dear children.

There are times in your life when you walk away from everything that surrounds you.  All the dreams that you had, everything that you knew has to be changed.  Times fly away.  The only constant in our lives is change. Change for the best.  Change with Jesus at your door.  He will show you the way to glory.  Surround yourself with people of the same mind.  Loving the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul.  Reading His word daily.  Obeying the commands of the Lord. Wisdom cries aloud in the streets.  Prov. 1.20a   Let us hear the wisdom that comes from above.  From the Father of all mercy.  Let us follow Him no matter what changes comes to  our lives.  Amen

I've read this for years and never understood that The author uses two women throughout the book. The young man has to choose which women he will take either Godly wisdom or Worldly wisdom. One woman walks the night and entraps, she leads to death. The other gives life and prosperity. (I don't know why I never saw that thread throughout the book until a few years ago when I am old...lol)

Like a little child seeking His father's hand let us all approach the Lord who cares for us. My son, hear the instruction of your father. Prov. 1:8 Let us hear what God wants to say to us today.
