Protection

You know the overwhelming nature of what you are facing, a relentless wave of medical struggles and deep burdens that have worn on your family for years. There is a hidden weight, a fear that something darker, something spiritual, is actively working for your ruin. You are not wrong in that feeling. The Word could not be clearer that our real struggle is not against the people or circumstances we can see. The true battle lines run right through the spiritual realm, against powers and entities of darkness. When you feel that unrelenting pressure, that is the flack from a very real war. You are beginning to touch something deep, and it is triggering a spiritual reaction. Recognizing that this is not just a run of bad luck or a physical problem alone is the most vital first step. If you misdiagnose the battle, you will reach for the wrong weapons.

The trouble today is that many try to fight a spiritual war with earthly tools, with human strategies or just sheer grit and determination. That is exactly why Paul reminds us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. You cannot fight a spiritual enemy with logic, with panic, or by fighting against the people around you when the enemy uses them to speak hurtful things. Those would be fleshly weapons, and you will find yourself in big trouble if you rely on them. The weapons God has given are mighty through Him, designed to pull down the strongholds the enemy is trying to build around your family. The real battle is for your mind, for your peace, and for your faith. That is where the enemy applies the pressure to break you mentally and spiritually.

So you must pick up spiritual armament. The Word of God, hidden deep in your heart, is your sword. Faith in God’s promises is your shield. And prayer is the deciding factor, the heavy artillery in this kind of warfare. Prayer is not bound by time or space. As you do battle in the Spirit through prayer, you can bring change directly to those hospital rooms and into the middle of your family’s distress. When you feel that cold grip of fear, you must understand that fear and faith cannot coexist. Fear is the enemy’s tool to push faith right out of your heart. When Satan tries to strike fear in you, it is an attempt to get you to react in wrong ways, to run for a false shelter. Remember the Lord is the only cure for fear. David could walk through the valley of the shadow of death and fear no evil because he knew the Lord was with him. If God wants to protect you, He can protect you right where you are. You do not have to be driven by the terror of what might come next.

Stand up in the name of Jesus and in the protection of Jesus. Through the power of His name, resist the devil, and the promise is that he will flee. Your victory does not come because you are strong enough to fight off spiritual forces of wickedness. This warfare was climaxed at the cross. On the cross, Jesus Christ defeated the spirit forces of darkness. You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from a victory He has already won. When you come against Satan’s power in the name of Jesus, you are entering into the victory He has already secured for you. The spiritual realm is the superior reality, and in that realm, Christ has triumphed. Hold fast to that truth. Pray without ceasing, not out of a panicked terror of the enemy, but out of a reverent fear of God, who is your healer and your fortress.
