We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this cry for protection and justice. We stand on the promise of God’s Word, which declares, "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you" (Psalm 9:9-10). The wickedness you describe is not hidden from the Lord, and He will arise to defend those who are afflicted.
First, we must address the spirit of bitterness and vengeance that can take root in such situations. While it is right to seek justice, we are called to trust God to be the ultimate judge. Romans 12:19 reminds us, "Dearly beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but rather give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’" Instead of asking for harm to come upon this person, we pray that God would intervene in her life as well, that she might turn from wickedness and find repentance. For "the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy designed to steal, kill, and destroy in your life. The Bible assures us that "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment" (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that every curse, every plot, and every act of wickedness sent your way will be turned back upon itself, not by our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray that God would expose every hidden work of darkness, as it is written, "For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light" (Luke 8:17).
We also lift up the restoration of all that has been tampered with or stolen from you. Joel 2:25-26 promises, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, my great army, which I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied, and will praise the name of Yahweh, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you." We pray that God would restore your peace, your joy, your purpose, and every area of your life that has been disrupted. May He rebuild what has been broken and renew what has been lost, for He is the God who makes all things new.
Father, we ask that You would surround this dear one with Your hedge of protection. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers them, and no evil can touch them without Your permission. We pray for divine intervention in this situation, let Your angels encamp around them, as You promised in Psalm 34:7, "The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them."
We also pray for wisdom and discernment. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." May this one be led by Your Spirit in every decision, and may they walk in the peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that You are in control.
Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of fear, anxiety, and torment in their life. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We rebuke the spirit of fear and command it to flee in the name of Jesus. We pray that this one would walk in boldness and confidence, knowing that You are their defender.
Finally, we pray for a heart of forgiveness. This is not to excuse the wrongdoing but to release the burden of bitterness that can poison the soul. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We ask that You would soften their heart and help them to release this person into Your hands, trusting You to handle the situation with perfect justice.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You hear our prayers and that You are a God who sees, knows, and acts on behalf of Your children. We declare that this situation is under the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against this one shall prosper. We pray for complete restoration, spirit, soul, and body. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and can come before Your throne. Amen.
