Protection from spiritual attacks

We stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting up your cry for protection to the Lord, who is our refuge and strength. The attacks you describe, disturbances in sleep, afflictions of body and mind, are not merely physical or psychological struggles, but signs of spiritual warfare. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we serve a God who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is written, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).

The Word of God is clear: we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Therefore, we must put on the full armor of God so that we can stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). We pray that you would be clothed with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17). Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also encourage you to examine your life for any open doors that may be giving the enemy a foothold. Are there areas of unrepentant sin, unforgiveness, bitterness, or fear? The Bible warns us, "Do not give the devil a foothold" (Ephesians 4:27). Confess any known sin before the Lord, for if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Walk in the light, as He is in the light, and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is under relentless spiritual attack. Lord, You are our refuge, our fortress, and our deliverer. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their mind, their body, and their home. Let the blood of Jesus be a shield of protection around them, a barrier that the enemy cannot penetrate.

Father, we ask that You would rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, torment, and sleeplessness that is oppressing them. Your Word says that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We command every lying spirit to be silenced and bound in the name of Jesus. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, flood their heart and mind. Grant them restful sleep, free from nightmares, disturbances, or any form of spiritual harassment. Let them lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, Lord, make them dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8).

We pray that You would surround them with Your holy angels to encamp around them and protect them from all harm (Psalm 34:7). Let Your presence go before them, behind them, and beside them, shielding them from every fiery dart of the enemy. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm in the truth of Your Word. Remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, empowering them to walk in victory and authority over every attack of the enemy. Teach them to wield the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, and to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Let their life be a testimony of Your power and glory, drawing others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We declare that the enemy is defeated, and that our brother/sister will walk in the freedom and peace that You have promised. We seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus and declare that it is done according to Your will. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm, dear one. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He has already won the victory. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Walk in obedience to His Word, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone in this fight, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of hosts stands with you. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).

We hear the weariness in your words, constant disturbance in the very place we should find rest can feel like a deeply personal assault. Sleep is more than a physical need; it’s a quiet space where God often restores our soul and grants peace that we cannot manufacture during the day. When that rest is repeatedly stolen, it’s easy to feel targeted and exhausted in both body and spirit.

We’re standing with you, asking the Lord to cover your nights in His shelter. Sometimes in these seasons, even small acts of surrender can shift the battle. A simple practice some find helpful is to play quiet, Christ-centered music or hymns in the room as you settle in, not as a formula, but as a way to let truth fill the air and anchor your thoughts when the mind wants to spiral. It’s a gentle way to turn your attention from the struggle to the One who neither slumbers nor sleeps.

You aren’t alone in this. We’re praying, and we trust that God sees every waking moment and holds you securely, even when the rest you long for is delayed.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this precious child of Yours who is under relentless spiritual assault, especially in the night hours. You are the Prince of Peace, and we ask You to command peace over their body and mind right now. Guard their sleep from every disturbance, and let Your presence be a shield around their bed. When fear or oppression tries to creep in, quiet them with Your love. Give them deep, renewing rest that not only restores the body but recharges their spirit. In the hours ahead, may they wake refreshed and reminded that greater is the One who lives in them than any force that stands against them. Amen.

The assault upon your body and mind, robbing you of sleep, is no mere accident of a disordered frame. It is the wolf seeking to devour the lamb, for the carnal mind, the mind of the flesh, is enmity against God, and that enmity does not slumber even when your eyes grow heavy. The wolf may sleep, but it is a wolf still, and when it wakes it seeks to tear and to scatter. You are learning what it is to be a sheep among wolves, and you are not to expect sympathy from them. Do not be disappointed, for you know your surroundings and you know your mission. The fiery darts of the wicked one can strike at the weakest point of the strongest mind, and the body that is at home in this weary land will groan being burdened until the day of its full redemption.

Yet, the sleep of the healthy body remains the gift of God, and the Lord gives to His beloved even in the midst of the conflict. When night follows night and there has been no sleep for you, it is a sore trial, and we regard it always as a bad symptom when the sufferer cries, “I cannot sleep.” But remember that the utmost diligence and the most desperate striving cannot force slumber to descend. No one ever goes to sleep while he tries to do so. It is when all idea of forcing it has gone that unconsciousness steals over us. Cease from your own struggling, and in the quiet of your spirit, look to the Shepherd who neither slumbers nor sleeps. He who keeps Israel will not let your foot be moved. He who watches over you will not slumber. Your calling, like that of Jacob, may bring the drought by day and the frost by night, so that sleep departs from your eyes, but you are still the sheep of His pasture, the stone of His Israel.

Feeble-Mind on the road to the Celestial City had his hands full and feared the lions would have him. Despise not your own infirmity in this hour. Despise not the weakness that has come upon you, for a deep sense of our weakness forms a considerable part of our qualification for service. Jesus seeks those whose backs are towards Him, and though you feel no desire to return from this turmoil, He comes after such desperately deluded ones. Our glorious David is able to rescue the lamb from the jaws of the lion and the paws of the bear, even when it lies out of all human reach. What a blessing sleep is to this poor, weary frame and to the throbbing brain! Yet there is a rest better than sleep, a rest for the soul absent from the body’s turmoil and present with the Lord. Look to that rest. Meanwhile, your body only sleeps, not destroyed but suspended in its faculties, resting from its labor. So shall your weary limbs one day know that quiet, whether now or in the sleep of death, from which you shall rise to glory. Sleep on in hope, for the Lord gives His beloved sleep, and He will speak peace to the storm within you. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The Lord who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and He permits this trial so that you may learn to guard your soul. The enemy strikes body and mind to disturb sleep because rest is meant to be a safe haven for those who fear God. Do not suffer your foot to be moved. Guard yourself lest you fall asleep to the things of God while your body lies awake. When anxious thoughts surge, remember that as the sea is never without waves, so a soul given over to unrest is never without disturbance. Therefore crucify the evil thoughts and slay the unreasonable desires that rise in the dark hours. Worship God in spirit and in truth, and offer yourself wholly to Him. Do not turn back because of agony or dread. Christ in His trouble did not draw back from what was set before Him, but said, Glorify Your name. Say the same, and the tempest will not overthrow the haven.

Let us pray. Almighty God, who neither slumbers nor sleeps, we ask Your protection for this soul under spiritual attack. Quiet the disturbances in body and mind. Grant sleep that is composed and decent, free from wild fancies and monstrous visions. Let the eye of the soul be wakeful, sharp, and not overcome by gloom or fear. Remove every anxiety, plot, and assault of the enemy. Let this person dwell under the shadow of Your wings and rise restored to serve You. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
