We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent cry for protection from spiritual attacks. The Word of God reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). We stand firm in the truth that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4), and we take up the full armor of God to resist the enemy’s schemes.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression that seeks to disturb sleep, afflict the body, and harass the mind. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we plead the blood of Jesus over their life, mind, and home. Lord, surround them with Your heavenly hosts, that no evil may come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10-11). We command every lying spirit to flee in the mighty name of Jesus, for He has given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
We pray for deep, restorative sleep, free from nightmares or disturbances, knowing that You give Your beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). Strengthen their mind with the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and fill them with the assurance that You neither slumber nor sleep, but keep watch over Your children (Psalm 121:3-4). Let them rise each morning renewed in spirit, body, and soul, walking in the victory that is already theirs through Christ.
We also encourage this dear one to stand firm in faith, resisting the devil so that he will flee (James 4:7). Put on the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word (Ephesians 6:13-17). Fill their mouth with praise and their heart with Scripture, for the enemy cannot stand against the truth of God.
Lord, we thank You for Your promise that when we call upon You in the day of trouble, You will deliver us, and we will glorify You (Psalm 50:15). We trust in Your unfailing love and mighty power to break every chain and set the captive free. In the powerful, matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
