Protection from spiritual attacks

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for protection from relentless attacks on body and mind causing disturbances in sleep, in Jesus name Amen

We stand with you in this battle, dear brother or sister in Christ, for we know that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The disturbances in your sleep and the relentless attacks on your body and mind are not of God, who gives His beloved rest (Psalm 127:2). We rebuke these spiritual assaults in the mighty name of Jesus, for He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).

The Word of God assures us that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare these truths over your life, for the enemy is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44). We take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). We pray that you would be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We ask that You would surround our brother/sister with Your hedge of protection, that no evil would befall them, nor any plague come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We pray that You would rebuke the enemy and command him to flee, for You have given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57). We ask that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we pray that You would strengthen their faith and help them to resist the devil, so that he will flee from them (James 4:7). We ask that You would give them restful sleep, free from disturbances and attacks. We pray that You would heal their body and mind, and restore them to full health. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Put on the full armor of God daily, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Speak the Word of God over your life, for it is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). And remember, greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord, Savior, and Deliverer. Amen.

We hear the exhaustion in your words, and we’re standing with you. Spiritual attacks that rob our sleep can feel relentless, they wear down the body and clutter the mind. One thing we’ve learned is that the enemy often targets our rest precisely because rest is a place of trust. When our guard feels low, we can remember that the One who never sleeps watches over us. Tonight, before you turn out the light, try speaking a simple truth aloud: “I belong to Jesus, and I rest under His protection.” That small act can shift your attention from the attack to the Protector.

It also helps many people to fill the room with worship, playing gentle hymns or instrumental praise quietly through the night. And because you’re sensing this on both body and mind, we’d gently encourage you to see a doctor if the sleep disturbances continue; spiritual battle often touches our physical frame, and it’s wise to address that too. If you have a pastor or a mature believer you trust, letting them pray with you in person can bring a weight of agreement that’s hard to carry alone.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this dear friend. You see the nightly struggle, the weariness that trails into each day. Spread Your wings over them right now. Quiet the noise that disturbs their rest and rebuke whatever does not come from You. Grant deep, restoring sleep, and fill their mind with Your steady peace. In Your strong name, Amen.

When night follows night and sleep is denied to your weary frame, you cry out with the psalmist, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.” Yet remember that this very sleep, which flees from you in the hour of trial, is the peculiar gift of God to His beloved. It is the Lord who steeps the mind in forgetfulness and bids us slumber, that our bodies may be recruited for the toil to come. That you are thus assailed, and that your rest is broken, is no strange thing; the adversary knows that there is a weak point in the strongest mind, where his opposition may wound, and he strikes at the bodily frame to unsettle the soul.

But be of good cheer; the Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep has not left you to the wolves. He never fails for lack of power, nor does He sleep while you lie wakeful and groaning upon your bed. The carnal mind may be enmity against God, and the wolf may slumber for a season yet remain a wolf; but in the sleep of security, which belongs to the redeemed, the Lord Himself is your shield. He puts forth a gracious exertion of eye and mind, as well as of foot and hand, towards His wandering sheep. You are yet in the body, and exempt from no ailment to which your fellow creatures are prone; but as one whom his mother comforts, so will the Lord comfort you. He does not mind taking trouble for His own; He will restore the rest which is the best physician for the throbbing brain. Cease from your own strivings, and commit your way to Him. So He giveth His beloved sleep, not as the world gives, but a peace that passeth understanding, which shall make your slumber sweet, though enemies encamp around.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The relentless attacks that disturb body and mind, robbing you of sleep, are a tempest indeed. In the spiritual life, we see that among the angels there is no disturbance, no turmoil, for their desires are dead to luxury and they know only necessity. But in our present state, great is the tempest, and yet great is the haven that awaits those who cling to Christ. Remember what I have taught: the saints among us, by the orderly state of their souls and their great fear of God, do not descend into the depths of sleep with snoring or wild tossing. Their sleep is light, their dreams free of monstrous visions, because their hearts are not stifled by excess and their minds are wakeful even in rest. This wakefulness of soul, this clarity of mind, is the mark of those who stand by the King, like eunuchs who are spotless, quick-sighted, and not sleepy.

You ask for protection. The root of these disturbances often lies in the burdens of sin, for the covetous and those entangled in worldly gains are filled with anxieties, fears, and ceaseless turmoil, like a sea never without waves. Yet the essence of your soul is not to blame, a work of God, but your will must be directed aright. Willing is natural, but willing what is good is from your own mind, with God's grace.

Consider Christ in His agony. Though He was troubled and desired to live, He did not turn back but said, "Glorify Thy Name," facing the Cross for the truth. By this He taught us that even in our dread we must not shrink from what is set before us, but call upon God's glory. He sought the garden often with His disciples, a place free from distraction, to converse on necessary matters and to grant them freedom from fear. That same garden became the scene of betrayal, yet even there, His presence brought calm to those who entered with Him. You are part of His Body; partaking of that Body and Blood, you are united to the very One adored by angels. Set your mind on things above, where Christ is seated. How then can these attacks overwhelm you when you are a member of that Body? The differences among members only strengthen the unity in honor. As Joseph, being raised from sleep, obeyed the angel with a submissive mind and a soul truly wakened, so rise from the drowsiness of despondency. Do not let these disturbances master you. Call upon the name of Jesus, for He has freed us from fear. Let your prayer be not for an easy path but that God's name be glorified in your trial. Then the peace that surpasses understanding will guard your heart and mind, and even your sleep will be restored, light and composed, a haven amidst the storm.

The very distress you describe reveals the battle that Scripture lays out so clearly: the war between the flesh and the spirit for control of your mind. Your body cries out for rest, yet relentless attacks keep it restless. This is not merely a physical or mental disturbance; it is a direct assault on the seat of your thoughts, seeking to drag your mind away from the peace that is yours in Christ.

Remember that you are an integrated being, spirit, mind, and body. The body, with its legitimate need for sleep, is being used as a weapon against you. The enemy knows that when the body is exhausted, the mind becomes vulnerable. But the real you is spirit, united with the living Lord, and your mind does not have to be held captive by the clamoring of weary nerves. The call upon your life is to present your body to God as a living sacrifice, and to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. That renewal comes as you fix your thoughts not on the pounding of your heart or the restlessness in your limbs, but on the truth of His promises. His truth is your shield and rampart. When the attack comes, do not let your mind dwell on the fear of another sleepless night; instead, deliberately steer your thoughts into the shelter of His Word. That active, Spirit-led discipline is how you stop letting sin and anxiety reign in your mortal body.

Take heart in knowing this frailty is temporary. The body you now inhabit is a corruptible tent groaning under the effects of the fall. Its needs and weaknesses will not have the last word. You are destined for a resurrection body that will not require sleep, a building from God not made with hands. One day you will be clothed with a body that perfectly matches your redeemed spirit, free from every disturbance. Until then, these nocturnal battles are a painful reminder that you are absent from the Lord, but they can also deepen your longing for that permanent home with Him. The struggle itself becomes a groan for deliverance, not from embodiment, but from this body of humiliation into the likeness of His glorious body.

I am praying that the Holy Spirit would empower you to yield your mind to His control rather than to the voice of your weary body. May He preserve your whole spirit, soul, and body blameless. When your head touches the pillow and the thoughts begin to swirl, resist the impulse to fight in your own strength. Instead, entrust your sleeping hours to Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps. In the quiet of the night, time can seem to stand still, but you can rest in the everlasting arms, knowing that whether you wake or sleep, you are living together with Christ.
