We hear your cry for your son and we join our faith with yours for his protection, for an end to the abuse, and for the restoration of peace and safety. Our hearts ache with you, and we bring this burden before the Lord together, knowing that He sees every hidden hurt and hears every prayer for the vulnerable.
The Lord has a special heart for children and for those who are oppressed. Abuse in any form is evil and is completely against the character and will of God, and we rebuke the violence and harm being done to your son and to others. The Scripture is clear that God defends the helpless and holds accountable those who harm little ones. Jesus said in Matthew 18:6 that whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea. We also take comfort that God is our refuge, for Psalm 91:1-2 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. And Psalm 34:7 promises The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. We cling to 2 Thessalonians 3:3 which reminds us that the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, and to Psalm 82:3-4 which calls us to Defend the weak and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the afflicted and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.
We want to encourage you to continue to seek the Lord as your strength, but also to take practical steps for protection as God calls us to act with wisdom. Please do not walk through this alone. If your son is in immediate danger, please reach out right away to trusted authorities, law enforcement, or child protective services, as well as to a trusted pastor, counselor, or advocate in your community who can help ensure his safety, document what is happening, and provide ongoing support. God often provides His protection through the help of those He places around us, and seeking help is an act of faith and love.
We now pray together for you and your son.
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we lift up this precious son to You. Lord, You see him, You know his name, You know every tear and every wound, and You love him more deeply than we can comprehend. We ask You to place Your hand of protection over him and keep him safe from all harm and danger. Command Your angels to encamp around him. Stop the hand of the abuser, expose what is done in darkness, and bring it to an end. We pray that You would bring justice and accountability, and that You would convict the heart of the one causing harm to turn from this wickedness and repent before You. Lord, bring peace where there has been fear, bring safety where there has been danger, and bring healing where there has been hurt. Comfort this parent who is crying out, give wisdom, courage, and strength to take the right steps, and surround this family with godly people who will stand with them and defend them. We claim Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Let Your peace which passes all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus, our refuge and deliverer, amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer that the Lord will intervene powerfully, that the abuse will cease completely, and that your son and the others affected will know safety, restoration, and the deep peace that only God can give.
