Protection from abuse
We hear your cry for protection over your son, and our hearts join with yours in fervent prayer. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We stand on His promise that He will command His angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:11). Father, we lift up to You, asking that You surround him with Your hedge of protection. Shield him from every form of abuse, harm, and danger. Let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and let the plans of the enemy be thwarted in Jesus’ mighty name.
We rebuke the spirit of violence, oppression, and fear that seeks to harm and others. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that abundance of life over, peace, safety, and restoration. Lord, expose any hidden works of darkness in this situation. Let Your light shine into every corner, and let justice roll down like waters (Amos 5:24).
We also pray for those who are perpetrating this abuse. Father, soften their hearts and convict them of their sin. Lead them to repentance so they may turn from their wicked ways (Ezekiel 18:30). If they refuse to repent, we ask that You restrain them by Your power and bring their actions to light so that and others may be safe.
Father, we ask that You strengthen emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have a purpose for his life. Surround him with godly people who will speak life, encouragement, and truth into his situation. Give him the courage to speak up if he is able and to seek help from those who can intervene.
We also pray for wisdom for you, as his parent, to know how to best support and protect him. Guide your steps and decisions, Lord, and provide the resources and people You would have to come alongside your family in this time. Let Your love be a tangible reality in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all.

Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind.
