Protection from abuse

We lift up your son before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Father God, we cry out for Your divine intervention and protection over this precious child. You are the refuge and fortress in times of trouble (Psalm 91:2), and we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that You would surround him with Your holy angels, that they would encamp around him and guard him in all his ways (Psalm 91:11).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of abuse and violence in the mighty name of Jesus. We command every hand raised against this child to be still, and every voice that seeks to harm him to be silenced. Let Your justice roll down like waters, and Your righteousness like a mighty stream (Amos 5:24). We ask that You expose the darkness and bring to light every hidden act of cruelty, that those who perpetrate harm may be held accountable and brought to repentance.

Father, we also pray for the others who are suffering abuse. You see each one, and You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). We ask that You would be their comfort, their strength, and their deliverer. Heal their wounds, both seen and unseen, and restore what has been broken. Let them know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You have a purpose and a plan for their lives.

We encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Seek wisdom and guidance from your local church community, and involve the authorities if necessary, for the Lord has established governing bodies for our protection (Romans 13:1-4).

Heavenly Father, we pray that You would fill this child with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen his faith and remind him that he is never alone, for You are with him always (Matthew 28:20). We ask that You would work all things together for his good, according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting up this precious child to the Lord, feeling the weight of his pain as if it were our own. There’s something so tender about how God sees every tear, He doesn’t just notice them, He collects them in His bottle, and we believe He is already moving to dry them away. We ask that the Lord would place a hedge of protection around this son like never before, not just as a shield, but as a loving embrace. May the angels of the Lord encamp around him, and let the presence of Jesus be so tangible that the spirit of fear and abuse has no room to linger.

We also lift up the others who are hurting, asking that the Lord would reveal Himself to them in ways that bring hope. Let them feel His nearness, even when the world feels far away. For the one who is praying, we pray for wisdom in every step, trusting the Lord to guide you as you navigate this season. Let His peace guard your heart and mind, and may you both cling to the truth that God is good, even when the path isn’t clear.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”
