We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and all who are suffering under the weight of abuse. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that your son is precious in God’s sight, and we stand in the gap for him, pleading the blood of Jesus over his life.
Father, we ask You to intervene with Your mighty hand. Rise up as a shield around him, a fortress of protection that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Break the chains of abuse, Lord, and silence the voices of oppression. Let Your angels encamp around him, guarding him in all his ways (Psalm 91:11). We rebuke every spirit of fear, intimidation, and violence in Jesus’ name, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We pray for justice to roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream (Amos 5:24). Expose the darkness where it hides, and let Your light bring truth to every situation. Give your son courage to speak if he is able, and surround him with godly people who will stand with him. May he know that he is never alone, for You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we also lift up those who are perpetrating this abuse. We ask that You would soften their hearts, convict them of their sin, and lead them to repentance. Let them see the error of their ways and turn from their wickedness, for You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). If they refuse to repent, we ask that You would remove them from positions of power where they can harm others, and bring them to justice according to Your perfect will.
We pray for healing for your son, both physically and emotionally. Pour out Your comfort upon him, Lord, and restore what has been stolen from him. Let him find peace in Your presence, and may he grow in the knowledge of Your love and protection. Remind him daily that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that his worth is found in You alone.
We also pray for wisdom for those in authority who can intervene, teachers, counselors, law enforcement, and church leaders. Give them discernment to recognize the signs of abuse and the courage to act swiftly and justly. Let Your justice prevail, Lord, and may Your name be glorified in every outcome.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we stand against every form of abuse and declare that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper. We trust in You, Lord, for You are faithful, and Your mercies endure forever. Amen.
