Protection for manager

Anonymous

Beloved of All
May God protect the manager of the place where I had my coffee, because the waitresses have a habit of arriving whenever they want and doing whatever they want, and they are angry with her, and she is one woman alone against all the waitresses.

We hear your concern for this manager and the difficult position she finds herself in. It is commendable that you are lifting her up in prayer, asking for God’s protection and intervention. Workplace conflicts, especially when one person is outnumbered and facing hostility, can be deeply stressful and even dangerous. We join you in praying for her safety, wisdom, and strength.

First, we must address the root of the issue. Scripture is clear that rebellion against authority, whether in the workplace, the home, or the church, is sinful. Romans 13:2 tells us, "Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment." The waitresses’ behavior of arriving late, doing as they please, and harboring anger toward their manager is not only unprofessional but disobedient to God’s design for order and respect. Their actions are a form of rebellion, and if left unchecked, they will bring consequences, not just for themselves, but for the entire workplace.

We also recognize that this manager is in a vulnerable position. As believers, we are called to stand for righteousness, even when it is difficult. Proverbs 31:8-9 says, "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy." This manager may feel alone, but she is not forgotten by God. We pray that He would give her the courage to address the issues with wisdom and grace, while also protecting her from any harm or retaliation.

Let us pray now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this manager to You, asking for Your divine protection over her. Lord, she stands alone against a tide of disrespect and rebellion, and we ask that You would be her shield and her strong tower. Surround her with Your angels, guard her heart from fear, and give her the strength to stand firm in her authority.

Father, we ask that You would convict the hearts of these waitresses. Show them the error of their ways and lead them to repentance. Soften their hearts toward their manager and toward You, Lord. If there is any bitterness or unforgiveness in their hearts, we pray that You would uproot it and replace it with humility and respect. Help them to see that their actions are not just against their manager, but against Your order and design.

Give this manager wisdom, Lord. Help her to address these issues with both firmness and grace, reflecting Your heart in all she does. If there are steps she needs to take to correct the behavior, whether through discipline, training, or even termination, give her the discernment to know what is right and the courage to follow through. Protect her from any backlash or harm that may come as a result of standing for what is right.

We also pray for the workplace as a whole. Bring unity, Lord, where there is division. Bring order where there is chaos. Let Your peace reign in that place, and may it be a testimony to Your goodness and Your ways. If there are customers or other staff members who witness this conflict, use it to draw them to You, that they may see Your justice and Your mercy at work.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would bless this manager abundantly. Reward her faithfulness, meet her needs, and fill her with Your joy and peace. Let her know that she is not alone, for You are with her always. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

To you who submitted this request, we encourage you to continue praying for this situation. If you have the opportunity to speak with the manager, you might also offer her encouragement from Scripture. Remind her that God sees her struggle and that He is her defender. Proverbs 22:29 says, "Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won’t serve obscure men." This manager is in her position for a reason, and God can use her to bring about change if she remains faithful.

If the waitresses’ behavior escalates to the point of harassment or threats, it may be necessary for the manager to involve higher authorities, such as the owner of the establishment or even legal counsel. God does not call us to endure abuse or danger, and it is right to seek help when needed.

Above all, remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). Pray that the enemy’s plans would be thwarted and that God’s will would prevail in this situation. Stand firm in faith, knowing that God hears your prayers and will act on behalf of those who trust in Him.

We're grateful you brought this to us. It's unsettling to witness a workplace where one person seems isolated and outnumbered, especially when you can sense the tension every time you walk in. The anger coming from the waitresses may be a loud signal of other frustrations or hurts they're carrying, but that doesn't make it any easier for the manager who bears it day after day. What she needs right now, beyond safety, is the quiet confidence that she isn't as alone as she feels.

One practical thing you might consider: a brief, low-key word of encouragement next time you're there. Something as simple as, "I notice you run a tight ship, and I respect that. I'm praying for you." You don't need to fix the situation; just letting her know one person sees and cares can steady her in the storm.

We're joining you in asking God to watch over her.

Father, thank you that you see every hidden conflict and every weary heart. Cover this manager with your protection, keep her safe from harassment and fear. Give her sound judgment, steady nerves, and the courage to lead well even when others are angry. Work in the hearts of the waitresses, turning their hostility toward peace. Let your presence be her shield and her deepest calm. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Lord is the shield of those who trust in Him, and He delights to show Himself strong on behalf of the solitary woman who leans on His arm. Remember the staff of Jacob, that worn piece of wood he carried across Jordan in his youth and still held as he blessed his sons in old age, it was the emblem of his pilgrimage, the token of dependence on God who had shepherded him all his life. Let this manager lean on that same staff; let her worship leaning upon the top of it, for the staff is the emblem of “up and away,” marching through an enemy’s land with nothing on earth to tempt us to stay.

You need not fear that the multitude of the waitresses or their stubborn wills can prevail against one whose cause is committed to the Lord. Divine sovereignty sits upon a throne higher than their malice, and He raises up whom He will and abases the proud. The low tree, fostered by the Husbandman, shall mount even to the stars; the high tree, cut down by the axe of judgment, shall lie outstretched along the plains of ruin. The dry tree by divine grace shall flourish, and the green tree, deserted by the dew of heaven, shall dry up. His hand moves in every circumstance, and He is able to make even the wrath of man to praise Him.

I have often found that the presence of God dissolves difficulties as glaciers melt in the summer sun. When the Divine Spirit breathes upon a troubled scene, the mountains flow down at His feet. Pray that the Lord would visit that workplace with His saving presence, that He would interpose as He did for David when He sent Abigail to turn away a great error. One divine word can calm the storm; one whisper of His love can subdue the most restless heart. Perhaps these waitresses need not merely correction but conversion, and who knows but that this trial may be the means of bringing them to the feet of Jesus? He can save the most obstinate and bring opposers to humble faith. Plead with Him to do so.

Let this manager not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season she shall reap if she faints not. It is no small thing to stand alone, but she does not stand utterly alone, for the Lord is at her right hand. The divine challenge to every oppressor is still, “Let My people go free.” And though Satan may stir up strife, and angry hearts may conspire, the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation. I charge her to cast her burden on the Lord; He will sustain her. And you who love her, beseech heaven with your prayers, wrestle like Jacob until the breaking of the day. Divine interpositions often answer believing prayer in ways that brim with wonder.

The Lord can raise up a standard when the enemy comes in like a flood. Let her look to Him who rules over all, and she will yet see that her strength is not in herself but in the mighty God of Jacob, who will make her to stand and will put her adversaries to shame. Hallelujah, for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth!

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask protection for this manager, and it is a pious request. But consider that her safety is not truly threatened by the anger of those women, nor her strength diminished because she stands alone. The warfare of the Christian is not as the world thinks; we conquer by suffering wrongfully, not by matching blow for blow. These waitresses, arriving as they please and fuming against her, are consumed by their own passions, vainglory, envy, the love of slackness. They do her no real injury, but they heap up judgment for themselves. If she meets their fury with calm endurance, she gains a victory more glorious than if she had a legion at her side. For God often permits such conflicts precisely to enhance the struggle for the righteous when their deliverance is near, that the crown may be brighter.

Direct her, then, to the example of David, who with a handful of fugitives bore the pursuit of Saul and his army, yet when he could have slain his enemy, he forbore. There the man who seemed weak and alone was mightier than the king with all his host, because he fought with innocence, not with malice. So this woman, if she refuses to return wrath for wrath, and instead seeks to correct privately those who offend, following the Lord’s command to speak first between herself and the one at fault, she may gain not only her own peace but even the souls of her adversaries. Public accusations and counterattacks only harden resentment. A soft word, offered in a spirit of concern, can break the stubbornness that all their shouting will only feed.

Pray, then, not only for her protection, but for the unruly women, that they may be turned from their folly. And let your prayer be that both she and you may learn to despise the little losses of earthly respect and convenience, for no one can steal that honor which God gives. If she clings to patience, she will find herself safer under the shadow of the Almighty than any bolted door could make her.
