Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for covering and restoration over your life and your children has been heard, and we join you in lifting your household before the Lord. The longing you expressed for a home that is a safe haven of love, peace and joy reflects the very purpose God has for the family.
Scripture teaches that the family was designed by God to be a secure and loving environment where children are raised and nurtured, and where husband and wife and children and grandchildren know a deep bond of love. That is the good you are asking God to guard and to restore, and He delights to be the center of that home.
You have declared that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, and that by the wounds of Jesus we are healed. Those are true promises in Christ. The Bible also shows that God's blessings were given within a covenant relationship and were connected to listening diligently to His voice and walking in His ways, while the consequences of turning away were solemnly pronounced and the people affirmed that those judgments were right. There were many more warnings than promises of blessing, because the tendency of the heart is to wander. This reminds us that our protection and peace are not found in repeating words as a formula, but in belonging to Jesus Christ Himself. Through faith in Him alone we are brought into a new covenant, and in Him every curse is broken and defeated at the cross. It is the blood of Jesus that covers you and your children, and it is His Holy Spirit who rests over your hearts and your home.
The work of Christ is restoration. The years of sin and pain can take a toll on a life, on health, on a family, but God is a restorer. We have seen Him put lives back together again, bring healing to bodies and minds, mend what is divided, and return what the enemy has taken. Sometimes that healing comes instantly, and sometimes it comes gradually, as in the one healing where sight returned step by step. In either case every true healing comes from the Lord. What can limit His work in us is unbelief, while simple faith like that of children opens the heart to receive what He gives.
God also promises to guide those who trust Him. As He once led His people by a cloud, directing when to journey and when to camp, and assigning each family its place and service around His presence, so He orders your steps today. You asked Him to place His angels around every doorway and room and vehicle and decision. The Lord does command His angels to guard His people, and more than that He promises His own presence with you, as He promised to be with Jacob when He called him to return to his family and his land.
A vital part of that protection for your children is faithfully telling them the truths of God so they may tell their own children. A parent's relationship with the Lord, as precious as it is, is not sufficient for the children. Each child must come to know Jesus for themselves. Rarely does a work of God continue into another generation unless parents are diligent to teach and model the faith at home. Continue to pray for them, teach them the Word, and show them by your life what it means to follow Christ.
We pray with you now that the Lord will keep you and your children from fear, confusion, hatred, division and isolation, and fill you instead with direction, freedom, protection and favor. May He heal what is broken, bring calm where there has been pain and sickness, and let His peace that surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May your home be filled with the Holy Spirit in every part of life, and may your lives be a light that reflects His love wherever you go.
We declare with you that Jesus Christ is Lord over you and your household, that you belong to Him, and that victory, protection and restoration are found in His name. Amen.
