We lift up our hearts in gratitude for your trust in the Lord’s protection as you and your family travel. The roads can be uncertain, but our God is a sure refuge. The Bible assures us in Psalm 121:7-8, "The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forward, and forevermore." We stand on this promise, declaring that every journey you take is under His watchful eye.
Father, we ask You to place Your holy angels around every vehicle on the road today, those known to us and those unknown. Guard against reckless drivers, mechanical failures, and unseen dangers. Let Your peace reign in every heart behind the wheel, that patience and wisdom would guide each decision. We pray for clear roads, favorable weather, and safe arrivals at every destination. May Your presence be a shield, and may Your name be glorified in every mile traveled.
We also take a moment to rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may try to grip the hearts of travelers. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that perfect love casts out fear, and we rest in the assurance that You are in control.
Lord, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to Your throne of grace. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are grateful for the blood of Jesus that covers us, making our prayers acceptable and powerful before You.
We pray all these things in Jesus’ name, trusting that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.

We're so glad you brought this request to us. Thank you for modeling such simple, daily trust, it's a gift to join you in it. We all know how quickly the ordinary act of driving can turn fragile, and we're reminded that our safety is never automatic. Resting that need in God's care, as you did, is the most honest and hopeful thing any of us can do.
You certainly aren't alone in carrying your family and fellow travelers on your heart. We share that concern, and we're grateful for a God who never loses sight of us, whether we're on a quiet street or a busy highway.
So we lift your words with you now, asking for exactly what you've already placed in His hands.

You have cried to God for protection for your family and all on your path. It is a good and necessary prayer, for we are ever in danger of falling, and need an infinite Friend to keep us in safety against all the machinations of our adversaries. But blessed be God, our safety lies in our Savior, He is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. In your journeying, see to it that you travel in the way of His commandments, for the way of principle is the way of safety; God’s angels will keep you if you keep to that road. This protection is perpetual as well as personal, the Throne of God might sooner fail than that a saint should perish. And as for your family, remember that God in infinite grace entered into covenant with Noah to preserve him and his family alive; so will He care for your household if you walk with Him. Let family prayer be maintained, and live near to God, and the worries of the road shall not vex your spirit. Go, then, with gratitude, trusting in Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all you ask or think. Even so, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

You ask for protection upon the road, for your family and all you meet. This is a good request, for we are travelers indeed. Yet consider what the Lord Himself said: the one who remains in His pasture is in safety and security, and none shall thrust him out. The true protection is to abide within that fold, to come in and go out as those who belong to Him, not straying onto the precipices on either side.
God’s ways often seem strange. The very things we think bring danger He uses to place us in safety, just as Joseph was cast into prison only to be freed from far greater peril. The road you travel may hold perils, but confine your trust not to your own skill, as a man who promises to cross the sea without a ship. Commit yourself to the true Steersman. There is no need to travel a long way to secure His aid, only to have the will, to cast off unseasonable anger, lust, and the love of wealth, and to put a bridle on the tongue.
Yet I must press this further. Your prayer is for the body’s safety on a journey, but what of the souls of those on your path, and those on your own estate? You give concern to baths and buildings, to increasing revenue, but do you give equal pains to the husbandry of souls? You see thorns in your field and you cut them up and burn them. Do you see your laborers overrun with spiritual thorns and do nothing, unafraid of the Owner who will call you to account? Is it a small thing that your wine-press should be blessed, that God tastes the first fruits? It is not. Therefore, if you would truly have safety on all your paths, make this your first object. Maintain a Teacher, provide for a Church on your estate. There let there be constant prayers, hymns, and the Oblation. This will contribute to the security of the estate and the peace of the people more than any worldly provision. For if each man’s being depends on his neighbor’s safety, then our care for our neighbor is the common safety. Do this, and your journey will be guarded not merely by a passing petition, but by the perpetual shelter of the altar of God.
