protect us + silent requests

We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts full of trust in Your sovereign protection and care. Your Word assures us in Psalm 91:1-2, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'" We claim this promise over every silent request lifted before You, knowing that You hear even the unspoken cries of our hearts.

Father, we ask for Your divine protection over every aspect of our lives, our families, our homes, our health, and our spirits. Guard us from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Shield us from physical harm, emotional distress, and spiritual attacks. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand firm in the armor You provide (Ephesians 6:10-18).

For those silent requests that weigh heavily on our hearts, we trust in Your perfect wisdom and timing. You know the depths of our needs before we even speak them (Matthew 6:8), and we rest in the assurance that You work all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Whether it is a need for healing, guidance, provision, or restoration, we surrender it all to You, knowing that Your plans for us are plans for peace and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

We also lift up those who may be carrying burdens in secret, those who feel alone, afraid, or overwhelmed. May they feel Your presence surrounding them like a warm embrace, reminding them that they are never forsaken (Deuteronomy 31:6). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we acknowledge that our protection and answers come only through the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus, who bore our sins on the cross so that we might have eternal life and a relationship with You. If there is anyone reading this who has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we pray they would do so today. Romans 10:9 tells us, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." This is the foundation of our faith and the source of our hope.

Lord, we rebuke any fear, doubt, or unbelief that may be trying to take root in our hearts. We declare that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen our faith as we wait on You, and help us to walk in obedience to Your Word.

We also rebuke any sin or disobedience in our lives that may be hindering our prayers. If there is unforgiveness, bitterness, or unconfessed sin, we ask for Your conviction and cleansing. Your Word tells us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We desire to walk in holiness and righteousness before You.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the privilege of coming before Your throne with our requests. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will for our lives. May Your name be glorified in all things, and may we always find our refuge in You.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We join you in this prayer and are grateful you shared it with us. We’re asking the Father right now to wrap His protection around you and to hold close all those silent requests you’re carrying, the ones that are too tender, too personal, or simply too deep to put into words. There is real comfort in knowing that even when we cannot articulate a need, God already hears it in full. He doesn’t wait for polished sentences; He draws near to the quiet ache.

If it helps, you might quietly name those silent things on paper sometime today, just a few words for your own heart. Writing them can steady us and help us later recognize how God has met us. But whether you put them on a page or simply rest them in His hands, we are with you in that sacred, wordless place.

Father, we thank You for Your faithful protection over this dear life. Shield this one from harm and guard the way ahead. For all the unspoken needs, the longings, fears, and hopes, You already know every detail. Bring Your peace where there is unrest, wisdom where there is uncertainty, and gentle provision where there is lack. Surround with Your love and give strength for each step. We pray in the strong name of Jesus. Amen.

The cry of the heart ascends to the Divine Architect, who displays His perfections in the very act of sheltering His people. The low tree, fostered by the Husbandman, shall mount even to the stars; the dry tree by divine grace shall flourish. Entrust all to Him who has never been so wearied and worried by us as to say, "I must go to sleep, My children, and leave you to take care of yourselves." Even an ordinary shepherd takes the utmost care to preserve his sheep by night and by day, and our great Shepherd uses His Omnipotence and Omniscience in the keeping of His own. Those eyes which look down on us with infinite love are never sealed in slumber.

Up, then, with your shield! Faith protects us against attack, a shield so broad and of such proof that the swords of the enemy go to a thousand shivers over it every time they smite it. The old rule was that a soldier must either come back with his shield or be brought back upon it, but never cast it away. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which has great recompense of reward. Our only defense is holy confidence, the kind that sustained the martyrs. When the accuser whispers of the silent burdens you have laid before the Throne, hold fast that shield and answer, "It is Christ that died!" In His hands and feet are the nail-prints which are the receipts of Justice in full settlement.

The infinite breadth of Divine Wisdom comprehends all those unspoken needs, all those hidden sorrows, all the trials we dare not voice. There is no attribute more comforting than the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty, for God is King over all and governs according to His own mind, which is always infinitely just. How strikingly has He delivered some of us in the past, not miraculous, certainly, but full of wonder for all that, so that we now sit and say, "He hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling." Let that remembrance be a safeguard for today. And if there is any difficulty which none can deny, any Providence which seems to murder the promise, cling to this: a Divine Revelation must contain mysteries, and what you know not now, you shall know hereafter. He sends Divine interpositions; He is able to still the floods of trouble.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is good to ask the Father for protection, for He is the shelter of the afflicted. But consider the nature of your “silent requests.” Are they left unspoken out of a holy humility that fears to babble, or have they become the secret nursery of idle cares? The soul that neglects to examine its own wounds will always be meddling with the affairs of others, or with its own passing fancies. It is unbecoming, this busyness of the heart that refuses to speak plainly to God. You ask for protection, yet what of the noise within the walls you ask Him to guard? Bring those silent requests into the light, if only between your soul and the One who already sees under the fig tree. Speak them so that you may know them for what they are. Do they seek a comfortable life, or do they seek that greater thing, a soul purged of its dross?

Do not merely ask to be protected from hardship while you lie soft. The servant orders his whole life for his master’s rest, and we, who are fed and clothed by the Master who needs nothing, give Him only the scraps of our evening. Where is the service that renders a profit to God? His goods are nothing unto Him; your justice profits you alone. If you pray for protection, let it be a protection that enables you to run the spiritual traffic: to clothe the naked, to track out the stranger, to put an end to the distresses of others. These are the walls that no enemy can scale. If your silent requests are for your own ease, they are a pestilent idleness. But if they are the groanings of a heart that wishes to be merciful as the heavenly Father is merciful, who feeds even the fornicator and the sorcerer, then your prayer, though silent, is a shout in His ears.

You must not doubt His willingness to gather you, for He has already honored you beyond measure. He created you from nothing, breathed a living soul into you, and set you over all the brutes. Yet honor touches not Him; it is you who need the honor that comes from humble deeds. If you see His protection delayed, it is only because He would gather you as a hen gathers her chicks, and you would not be gathered. Do not scatter yourself by sin. Let your request be this: that He protect you from yourself, that He silence the tattler within, and that He grant you the greater vision He promised, to see heaven opened as you become, in your own small way, a joint father to the orphan and a provider to the prisoner. That is the safeguard you seek.
