We join you in thanking our Father for His forgiveness and grace, what a steady foundation to stand on when we bring our needs to Him. The fact that you’re lifting both spoken and silent requests tells us you’re leaning into His care, and that’s a beautiful place to be.
It’s a comfort to remember that God doesn’t need every detail spelled out. He knows the silent aches, the worries we can’t quite put into words, the hopes we’ve tucked away. When we simply bring those to Him, we’re trusting His heart and His wisdom, not our own ability to explain. So as we pray with you for protection and for those unspoken things, we’re also praying you’ll have a deep settling of peace, the kind that comes from leaving it all in His hands.

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of reverence, lifting up this prayer for protection and the silent needs of Your children. It is only through the precious name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father, and we are grateful for the forgiveness and grace that flow from the cross. The blood of Jesus has made a way for us to boldly approach Your throne, and we do so now, trusting in His finished work.
Father, we ask that You would surround Your children with Your divine protection. Shield them from the schemes of the enemy, who prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). Place Your hedge of protection around them, their families, and all that concerns them. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, that they may dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1). Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, let them condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We also lift up the silent requests of their hearts, those unspoken burdens that weigh heavily upon them. You, Lord, know the thoughts and intentions of our hearts even before we speak them (Psalm 139:4). We ask that You would meet them in their quiet moments of need, bringing comfort, peace, and provision. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let them find rest in You, casting all their anxieties upon You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

Help us to walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for us, extending that same grace and forgiveness to others as we have received from You. If there are areas of their lives that do not align with Your Word, reveal them, Lord, and grant them the courage to repent and turn away from anything that displeases You. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Let them experience the joy of Your salvation and the freedom that comes from walking in obedience to You.
Father, we also pray for those who may be feeling distant from You or struggling with doubt. Draw them close, Lord, and remind them of Your unfailing love. Your Word says that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39). Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in You with all their hearts, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).
We lift up marriages and families, asking that You would strengthen them and bind them together in love. Let husbands love their wives as Christ loved the church, and let wives respect their husbands (Ephesians 5:25, 33). Guard their hearts against temptation and help them to flee from sexual immorality, remembering that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-19). For those who are single, we pray that You would prepare them for godly marriages, if that is Your will, and that they would pursue relationships that honor You, keeping themselves pure and blameless until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:10).
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair that may be attempting to take hold of Your children. Your Word tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is in His name that we have access to You, and it is through Him that we are saved. Short and silent was the prayer. It was a prayer on the spot. I beg you often to use this method of brief, silent prayer. Brief, silent prayers are of great use to us. Oftentimes they check us.
You need an infinite Friend to keep you in safety against all the machinations of your adversaries. Our safety lies in our Savior, "God our Savior." He is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. This protection is perpetual as well as personal.
Very often the response to a Believer's petition has been practically received before he presents his request, he only needs that God should open his eyes for him to see that before he called, God had answered his supplication! He does not mock them by giving them something that may look like what they asked for, but is only a deception.
He who dwells in the Valley of Humiliation lives in a place where he may delight himself with safety. They also feel that they have many needs; indeed, they seem to themselves to now have more needs than they ever had before! And were it not for the Infinite fullness which is treasured up in Christ, the very thought of their needs would crush them and drive them to despair!
The way of principle is the way of safety. God's angels will keep you if you keep to that road.
