We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle that your son is facing right now. We stand with you in prayer, trusting in the power of Jesus' name to bring peace and comfort.
Firstly, we commend you for turning to Jesus at this time as He said "'For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.'" (Matthew 18:20 WEB). This is a promise that we can claim as we lift your son up in prayer together. Jesus also said, "'In that day you will ask in my name; and I do not say to you, that I will pray to the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God.'". It is so important to come before God in Jesus name as we are instructed to do so and it is only through Jesus that we can approach God the Father. We are also told: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, this is the testimony at the proper time." (First Timothy 2:5 WEB). So we will continue to pray and agree together in Jesus name.
We rebuke any spirit of torment or anxiety that may be affecting your son's relationship with food. We know that God desires for us to have peace and self-control, as it is written: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We pray that your son will experience this divine peace.
We pray specifically for his relationship with food, whatever the issue may be, that God will guide him and give him strength. We are reminded of what the scripture says: "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31 WEB). Using this verse, let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our beloved brother who is facing torment and anxiety, especially regarding his relationship with food. We ask, Lord, that You would saturate him with Your peace and calm, right now. Rebuke any spirit of torment or anxiety, and help him to experience Your divine peace that surpasses all understanding.
Guide him in his relationship with food, Lord. Help him to make choices that honor and glorify You. Give him the strength and self-control to overcome any unhealthy habits or thoughts, and help him to see food as a blessing from You.
We ask this in Jesus' name as You have instructed we should.
Amen
Continue to trust in God's goodness and faithfulness, and remember that He cares for your son even more than you do. Keep praying and interceding for him, and we will join you in that as well.
