Pregnancy

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me and my partner as we’re trying to conceive this cycle. I’m asking God to bless us with a healthy pregnancy, to guide my body through ovulation and conception, and to give us peace and patience while we wait. Please pray that, if it is God’s will, this will be the cycle we receive our positive pregnancy test and begin the journey of becoming parents. Amen.

We join you in bringing this deep desire for a child before the Lord, for we know that children are a gift from Him and the desire to become parents can be holy and beautiful. We hear your longing for a healthy pregnancy and for peace while you wait, and we want to seek God's will together with you in Jesus' name.

Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3. God formed us in the womb and He alone opens and closes the womb according to His perfect wisdom and timing, as it is written For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:13 and Yahweh remembered Rachel, and God listened to her, and opened her womb. Genesis 30:22. We also remember Hannah who prayed, For this child I prayed, and Yahweh has given me my petition which I asked of him. 1 Samuel 1:27.

We want to lovingly address something in your request that we cannot overlook because we care for you and want God's best for you. You refer to your partner, and we do not know if you are married. Scripture is clear that marriage is to be honored as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and that sexual intimacy and the blessing of conceiving children is designed by God to be within that covenant. Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4. Also it is written Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. Genesis 2:24. If you are not yet married, we urge you in love to turn from fornication, which is sex before or outside of marriage, and to pursue a godly marriage first, seeking a spouse who is a fellow believer in Christ, for courtship should be with the goal of marriage and not simply partnership. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. If you are already married but used the word partner, we rejoice and we encourage you to embrace God's language for your holy covenant as husband and wife. We pray that your union would more and more reflect Christ and honor Him.

We also noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why this is so important. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved and have our prayers heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. To come to God we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray and find peace while we wait.

We encourage you to cast your anxiety on Him and trust His timing, even when waiting is difficult. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4. Whether this is the cycle God chooses to grant conception or not, we trust His will is good and His love for you is steadfast.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and grace upon this dear one. Lord, we thank You that You are the Creator of life and that every child is Your gift. If it is Your will, we ask You to bless her body, to guide ovulation and conception, and to grant a healthy pregnancy in Your perfect timing. Grant her and her spouse, or the one who would become her husband if they are not yet married, peace and patience as they wait upon You. Father, if there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we ask for Your forgiveness through the blood of Jesus, and we pray for conviction and strength to walk in purity and to honor the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman. Lead them into a Christ centered marriage that honors You, and if they do not yet know Jesus as Savior, draw them to salvation today. Let Your will be done in their lives, and let Your peace guard their hearts. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only hope, amen.

We hear how much this hope means to you, and how tender the waiting can feel month by month. Longing to become a parent brings real joy and real ache together, and it makes sense you are asking for peace and patience while you wait through this cycle.

It can help to have a simple, steady rhythm in a season like this. Many find it grounding to set aside a short time each day to bring hopes and worries honestly to the Lord, and then to intentionally step away from tracking and thinking for a while to rest. If you have questions about your cycle or your health, it is good to bring those to a trusted clinician alongside prayer, so you have both spiritual and practical support. Having one safe person who can walk with you and listen can also make the waiting less lonely.

We are holding you in prayer for calm, for wisdom in each step, and for trust in God's loving care for you as you wait.

Father, we lift her to You in Jesus' name. You see the desire she carries to be a mother and the uncertainty of these days. Give her Your peace to steady her heart, wisdom for her health and next steps, and confidence in Your good will and timing. Draw near, comfort her, and guide her with Your kindness. Amen.

We have heard your request and we bring it before the Lord who waits to be gracious and who is ready to pardon through Jesus Christ alone. It is a tender thing to desire children, and it is right to bring that desire to God in prayer, waiting only upon Him and not upon the arm of flesh.

The Scriptures teach us that blessed are all they that wait for Him. Waiting exercises patience, and patience is a choice gift of God, as difficult as it is necessary. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you are called now to that same quiet submission under the hand of the Lord. We are to ask, should it be according to your mind, or according to His mind. It is not easy to submit without murmuring to all that happens to us, yet He must be free to work after His own wisdom and love, and we are to bow our judgment to His Word and try to be conformed to all that He has revealed.

So we pray for you that the Lord would give you peace and patience while you wait, that He would guard your heart from anxious haste and teach you to wait cheerfully, saying, the will of the Lord be done. We pray that He would draw you both to seek salvation and every blessing only through faith in Jesus Christ, and to walk in His good design. God has ordained marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He has placed the gift of children and the union of husband and wife within that covenant for His glory and for our good. If you are not yet joined in that holy covenant, we lovingly urge you to seek His way in this, to honor Him with your bodies and your household, and to pursue His will above your own desires.

We do not presume to tell the Lord what He must do in this cycle, for we would rather find out what His will is than seek to make it what we consider it ought to be. We pray that if it be His gracious will, He would grant you the gift of a healthy child in His perfect time, and that He would guide your bodies and your steps with wisdom. And if He sees fit to say, wait, may He give you grace to wait upon Him with importunity in prayer, watching for His answer, and to give glory to Him in the waiting itself. May He make you content to remain in His hand until He speaks, and may the blessing, when it comes, be endeared to you by the waiting.

We ask the Lord to grant you both a deeper trust in His forbearance and love, to keep you in His comfort, and to conform your hopes to His holy purpose. May you know that He waits that He may have mercy upon you, and may your waiting be a waiting upon the Lord alone.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for trusting us with this deep desire of your heart for children. The longing to become a parent is a powerful one, and we hear both your hope and the weight of waiting in this cycle.

We want to pray for you with both compassion and faithfulness to what Scripture teaches. The Bible presents children as a gift from the Lord, and it also teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual union and living together belong within that covenant. Because of that, we cannot affirm or ask God to bless a sexual relationship outside of marriage, whether that involves cohabitation or any other arrangement outside His design. This is not to single you out, but to love you well by praying in a way that honors God and seeks His best for you.

We do not know your circumstances from the word partner alone, so we will pray for you both as individuals before the Lord. If you are a man and woman who are not yet married, we would encourage you to seek counsel with a faithful pastor about pursuing marriage as the God given place for this journey to parenthood. If there are other ways your situation does not yet align with Scripture, we encourage you to bring that honestly to Christ, trusting that His forgiveness and His way are for your good.

What you asked for, peace and patience while you wait, is exactly what God calls us to in Scripture. As one passage reminds us, by hope we are saved, and hope that is seen is not hope, so we wait with patience for what God has promised. That patience is not passive. It is learning to endure, to not be troubled, and to hold firm to the end, trusting God even when His timing is not our timing and even when He calls us to wait a hundred years, as it were, without fainting. That kind of patience and hope grow as we are comforted and strengthened by Scripture and by trusting Christ Himself.

So this is how we will pray for you:

We pray that you will know the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ and grow in trusting Him above all else. We pray that God will grant you and your partner true peace while you wait, and patience that endures without despair. We pray that He will give you wisdom for your bodies and health, and guide any medical decisions with clarity and prudence. We pray that His will be done regarding conception, that if He wills to give you a child, it would be in His perfect time and within His good design, and that you would be given grace to receive either a yes or a wait with faith. We pray that He will lead you both toward holiness, and if marriage is the next faithful step, that He will make that path clear and give you the courage to take it.

We invite you to continue seeking the Lord through His Word, through prayer, and through the support of a local church where you can be known and shepherded personally. If you would like, we are glad to keep praying for your health, for peace in the waiting, and for God to shape your future family according to His will.

May the Lord keep you close to Himself as you wait, and may He strengthen your hope as you trust Him day by day.
